Finally bought a second watch for myself.
After dipping into the world of luxury watches with the purchase of the #grandseiko SLGH005 in 2022, I spent quite a bit on those that are closet to me. I bought The First #pitzmann for my best friend's 40th birthday in 2023, and chipped in for my wife's Grand Seiko SBGW289 a month after. On my birthday that same year, I gifted my twin brother his first mechanical watch with #serica 4512 California (just before they announced 6190 😠). With a lot of encouragement from my wife, I decided to pull the trigger and expand on my own collection.
For me, it had to be pretty different from my Grand Seiko. It needs to do everything that the "white birch" cannot. Something that I can wear while my other watch is getting serviced in Japan, but also something I can wear more casually.
The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph (ref. WBP1112.FT6199) checked all the boxes for me:
✔ Solar-powered
✔ Quartz accuracy
✔ 60-click unidirectional rotating lumed forged carbon bezel
✔ Diver extension clasp
✔ 200 m / 660 ft water resistance
✔ Stealthy black case & strap
So far, I got a dressy sports watch on a full bracelet, and a #quartzdiver on a rubber strap. My third piece will likely be a chronograph in precious metal and on a leather strap. Any thoughts on the Zenith Chronomaster Sport (ref. 18.3100.3600/69.C920) to round out a 3 piece collection?

On paper, the 6190 seems to be the superior model: automatic movement, COSC, thinner case, and fully lumed indicies.

The gold Zenith would be outstanding but you might consider pricing a model with the gold bracelet and order an OEM strap but I have no idea the cost of a precious metal Zenith clasp. Any 3 watch collection for me was a fantasy that evaporated decades ago but your 3 watch collection makes a lot of sense. I am jealous of your discipline. 👍👍👍

Although I've seen the gold Zenith online over at Chrono24 for much cheaper, I would still get it from my AD. They've always treated me exceptionally. Best of luck with the Omega you're going to look at!

The model with the gold bracelet doesn't have a ceramic bezel. I feel that look defeats the whole purpose of the Chronomaster Sport design and that is the main reason why I want to get the gold Zenith model on the leather strap. It'll save me a ton of $$$ too.

Of course, didn’t look at the reference number, I recently picked up a blue dial steel bezel model, mainly because I prefer the watch without a ceramic bezel. I also buy strictly from ads but sometimes I think the love is mostly one way, haha. Been trying to source a Silver Snoopy since forever, my ad brings an Ultra Deep and PO from last summer Omegas to tempt me, not that tempted. That gold CS with a strap is nice but I think the bracelet would complete the package the price is insane. Good luck with your gold watch.
