I’ve just picked up this 70’s Orbitron. I’ve owned a Super Antarctic for a year now and wanted to see what NG had to offer from the old days. I’ve alw...

A family member of mine has the SRPE37 that came on the silicone strap. So for Christmas I got them a bracelet with model specific end links. We got one side secured and the other, no matter how much we pushed or twisted, would not fully seat the spring bar. I automatically assumed it was a faulty product that I purchased, but not until now did I consider it could’ve just been the Seiko 🥴
I had looked at the vintage model before Re-issue was released and was stunned upon seeing the similarities! Been seriously considering one as a neat dress/office piece.
Not sure if the gold case applies here, but I would check out the new Nivada Grenchen Antarctic 35mm or the Longines Heritage Conquest, also in 35mm. I’ve had very good experiences with Nivada and Longines speaks for itself. I believe both of these watches encapsulate that vintage’s charm/sizing of the time period of that Omega, while having modern specs and being brand new!

I’ve been running the Super Antarctic black dial, white indices only for the last 6 months and it has not disappointed! It’s a strap monster with 20mm lug width. 100m WR with a screw down crown, sapphire crystal, great finishing, and a great history to go with it. I’ve been wearing the heck out of this watch, dang near everyday! It’s been with me on kayak camping trips, the beach, and everything in between!
The seconds hand reminds me of those vintage Enicar Ocean pearls!🔥
