I was going to post a similar question so I hope you don’t mind be using your question as a springboard for mine! I’m off to Ireland (Dublin) and N. Ireland (Belfast and Derry) this weekend for 10 days, and was wondering your collective thoughts on taking my Tudor GMT and/or my AT 41mm that has the adjustable hour hand. The GMT is S&G and a bit “blingy,” while the AT is on a blue rubber strap and will likely fly more under the wire. I’m thinking that I’ll take both, just because they make me happy, but was wondering if I’m missing any information or concerns about traveling to these specific areas with pricy watches. Thanks for your comments!
Thanks very much! When I was referring to myself as being the outlier I was referencing the comments, not the poll results, but yes, more folks are on the GMT side so far. Thanks for the clarification. While I’m not a big Chrono fan, I would love to someday add a speedy to the collection.
I guess I’m the outlier here :) but I love the GMT. My kids live and travel to different time zones, and I like to track “their” time. My wife and I travel a fair bit, so the GMT is a practical choice when we travel. I’m going overseas this Saturday to visit a kid, but my conundrum is which watch to take - my Tudor GMT two tone is a bit flashy (I’d hate to be “relieved” of my watch), or the Aqua Terra which has an adjustable hour hand - not a GMT but it’s practical in setting the watch to local time, and it’s way cool!
