Dutch watch nut!

Hi i'm Mark, live in Holland and earn my money with transporting concrete.

And i'm a sucker for watches. I own aprox 40/50 watches.

But no luxery watches like lange, or Jeager.

I like the story behind the watch or the movement or even if it's practical. Also i like it when it's abnormal, like Invicta's huge cases.

Oh, and i say sorry in advance.......i'm no Rolex fan!

Welcome to WC! You'll find all kinds of watch lovers here, even those that hate Rolex. I'm not among them, but they're around. I'd be interested to know what watches you have/like, and everybody loves pictures.

I have periodes of buying watches. For instead i bought a lot of Invicta's from a realy good friend

who has lost his job years ago. And he started a website around Invicta. But Invicta slapt him on the fingers telling him that was not legal.

So they offert him a job, to sell Invicta watches in the Netherlands. At the beginning sales were slow, so ones a month i bought a watch from him. Now i have around 12 Invicta's hahahaha.

Welcome to WC!

No hate for loving some Invicta watches. WC is by far the most easy going / non-judgemental watch forum I've ever been in. Basically all watches seem to be welcome except for the fakes. At least, I haven't seen anyone posting about the fakes. It's heart warming to hear that you were buying an Invicta a month for a friend. Their diver (the Rolex Sub homage one) does seem genuinely nice.

As for the Rolex hate, as I said, WC seems to love all watches. 😉

Hahaha i must say that "hate" is a bit to Violant. Let's say ...it's not my thing!

I have to look for words sometimes and it's not my intension to Rolex lovers, to offent them.

About the "fakes"....in my early collecting days..........years ago, i bought a big Pilot IWC....as fake as can be. I don't have it anymore. The fake movement gave up.Image

Hi TommyGunn, that's why i have 2 chinees Red star watches with the Seagull movement. It date's to the early 50's when it was in a way a Swiss movement from Venus, the Venus 175. they are a bit small for my liking but absolutly wanted them.

They are hand winding and when you push the chrono buttons you have that satisfying snap. The ones i have, are fitted with the"gooseneck/swanneck" regulator and have sapphire glass.

I bought them on Ali for just over 200,- euro.....worth every cent! Or is it penny?
