FC world timer globetrotter edition

I shared this post https://www.watchcrunch.com/LewisC/posts/frederique-contant-manufacture-classic-world-timer-black-321356 where I discovered the all black FC world timer.

Now I have the chance to buy one? 🤔

Do I do it?

Limited to 300 pieces. CHF 3,995.00 (including tax).

Here are some photos.

What are people’s thoughts? The caché of a limited 300 piece does sound tempting, but let’s face it, it’s from a lesser known brand, so I doubt there is mega resale profit to be made….not that I would do this as I really like the piece.

FC is a fantastic brand, especially when you look at design and complications vs other more reputed brands. But…..Since this one is a quartz, I wouldn’t personally pay that price for it. I’d look at their automatic version, white or blue dial. Stunning…

This is a really interesting watch, the way they've combined pretty traditional watch design with a tactical / stealth finish is great.

FC have been doing some very cool LE's and collabs of late.

I like this:

And I love this:

I picked up a Highlife about 2 weeks ago and have been really impressed with it. If I ever stumble across the right Amsterdam Worldtimer at the right price I'll jump on it.

There's only 100 of them, so it might take a while.

🤷🏻

I think for a Worldtimer, and a limited edition, it's a good price point. It's Swiss, its luxury, it's a solid brand, and a better/unique Worldtimer design. So if you really like it and don't intend to flip it, sure seems like something to consider.

Thanks - this one is automatic. It’s the FC 718 in house movement

In that case, I’d pull the trigger

Personally I would pull the trigger! This is by far the best value for quality world timer on the market. And a beauty at that! 300 piece limited run is a huge bonus regardless of the brands popularity etc. FC is on the rise and it’s about damn time 👌🏻

I don’t think FC makes a quartz version of their world timer… do they? This one is def not, it’s an in house auto.

Probably depends on how important resale value is to you. I love my blue FC Worldtimer, and intend to never sell it. Have seen and heard of them go for rock bottom prices, however.

That’s true. How’s yours holding up? How long have you had it?

Holding up very well, definitely in my core collection. I've had it since 2020

No I didn’t. I tried in the regular model and I just didn’t connect with it.
