Vintage GS/KS- who needs a modern GS?

@loevhagen had a great post on his modern GS

And I so happened to receive 2 of my vintage pieces from zaratsu restoration.

My grail and still waiting- 44GS 38mm SD.

Not to mention, I don’t really have the $ for a brand new modern GS. So why not get 4 vintage pieces for less than the cos of 1 new modern GS!

From top

KS 5246-6000 monocoque

GS 4520-8000

GS SBGF-013 quartz (when I’m in a rush out the door, and just to own a sunray dial lol)

GS 6245-9000

I know I know…. Where’s the 45KS.

I’m on the lookout!

I agree 👍(sort of)

I will eventually add a modern GS but I don’t think they have made the one for me yet.

The limited release inspired Nanbu Tekki ironware almost got me. For me though, if I’m getting a modern GS it’s gotta have a spring drive movement.

When will you be adding a “first grand Seiko” to the collection any time soon?

·

Do you mean the real 44 GS?

Totally agree, vintage Grand seikos are quite the bargain

Where's the 57gs tho ?

·

This is my favourite era of Seiko 'sub-brands'. They look great.

It's a great little sub collection.

Have you considered adding a LordMatic as well?

5601-8000 & 9000 have the (I believe) first iteration of Seikos hi-beat mov't, some have a great linen dial and arabics too -my faves.
