Have I been misled?

We’re all familiar with the famous shot of James Bond’ Submariner from Dr. No.

Take a look at the wrist; specifically the near total lack of arm hair.  Now take a look at the other photo, which shows the furry Sean Connery we all know.

I believe the legend holds that the movie watch actually belonged to producer Albert Broccoli.

My question: is that Mr. Broccoli’s wrist in the movie?  Or did they use a “wrist double?”

Inquiring minds want to know!

(I suppose I should be grateful that this is the most troubling question on my mind right now.) 😀

Like most things in movies. Things aren’t always what they appear.  :-)

Sean did start off as a bodybuilder so would have shaved in real life , because of your confusion I'm going to have to watch Dr No now

Just look at Tom cruise playing jack reacher who is a 6ft 5 in the books

Wrist double or not - that watch looks awesome any which way you’re bent over looking at (courtesy says I have to add ‘IMO’ to the end of that sentence….)

It’s amazing how many people watch a scene with two people in it and those two people were never actually filmed together Because of schedules.  Never mind product placement and closeup shots. We all love Pedro Pascal, but he largely shows up for vocal only work on the Mandalorian.

I'm always offended when people make fun of Tom because he's taller than me 😅

Connery‘s wrist too I reckon, in that shot at least.
The other is a publicity shot, and I would guess it was taken a month or so later — probably back in London after the location shoot in Jamaica, so plenty of time to grow his fur suit back.

Legend is that the strap was one of the crews straps, since the bracelet was sized for Cubby. Which explains why it’s a few mm out. Predates the ‘NATO’ and is what we’d call a single-pass or RAF strap these days. In those days? Goodness knows. Took forty years for people to realise it wasn’t a grey and black one, so Omega canonised the myth instead.

This is a good point. That’s clearly not his wrist in the close up.

Contrary to common and popular belief, Tom Cruises is act quite tall - especially when he stands on a ladder. I’ve heard he can reach the height of an almost tall hobbit.

Just enhance the reflection in the crystal. Who has the enhancing software? You might need to run it a few times.

Just watched Dr No his wrist is tanned and hairy like in the pro mo picture
