C63 sealander

Anyone in here that has a CW c63 sealander or similar CW??

Been thinking of buying a more expensive Watch, and a GMT for my collection. I am going travelling later in March and thought it would be obvious to go for a gmt. And I fell in love with the CW c63 sealander. I’m loving the homage look of the explorer II, but wanted to hear what your opinions are. And maybe what other choices I could consider in the 1300-1400$ price range?

I think it’s a really good looking watch. While the Explorer II comparisons are hard to avoid, I think it is its own thing.

·

Cant fault CW, excellent value imho. 👍🏻

The only thing I'd say is, by contrast to Explorer II this isn't a "true" / traveler GMT but rather a caller / desk GMT. Meaning you can set the 24 hour hand independently but if you want to track local time with the regular 12 hour hand, you have to set it along with minutes and seconds in your new time zone. Whereas a traveler gmt is a bit more useful for travel in that the 12h hand can be set independently of others in 1h increments.

A popular travel gmt is the Traska venturer, or anything using the Miyota 9075.

The c63 looks great, especially in the teal blue, and maybe this style of gmt is right for you but as you're wanting to spend a lot I thought I'd just mention this caveat about choosing GMTs.

Yup, definitely it is its own thing. And I love it for that

I was able to take a look at that GMT on the Stockholm WC meetup and it’s a fantastic watch. I’ve got 1 of their C60 Sapphire watches and I’ve got no complaints about it.

Yes, I know that, but since I’m new in the GMT world, I honestly don’t think much of wether or not it’s a caller or true GMT. I feel like that’s something to think about when you are more “inside” the world of GMT watches. But thanks for mentioning the Traska. Been looking a bit at that as well after seeing it in one of Teddys videos

I have that exact CW C63 GMT White Dial. I think it wears a bit better than the Explorer. It does not feel as top heavy to me.

·

Yes, check out the ‘ yourterrific’ review of the Traska Venture, looks good, the CW is a great looking watch.

·

Can recommend the C63 GMT; excellent level of finishing, smooth movement, very comfortable.

I like it a lot, especially new one with the dragonfly blue dial.

The ‘caller’ vs. ‘true’ GMT distinction is micro-snobbery and should be ignored outright.

That is the same thought i have regarding the true vs caller gmt movement. But yes, the dragonfly dial is very pretty

I got the white GMT sealander as well. A nice watch and okay bracelet. My only complaint is the white dial. Which look pale and plain in direct sunlight.

·

Have that exact Polar GMT and I couldn't recommend it higher. So much watch for the money.

Watch out for CW's sales. If you sign up they will notify you when they happen.

·

I have a C60. I would say... if you have CW already on the short list, you can't go wrong also with the C63.

I have that watch. Just buy it, you will love it. I got the bader bracelet.

·

I bought one in January and as much as it’s beautifully finished (especially for the money) I never really bonded with it, maybe it was just a little clinical for me. My fault for picking the black dial I suppose!

·

I have a C60, not a GMT, and love it. Getting ready to buy another from their collection. Great watches.

·

I'd recommend saving a TON of money and going for an OLKO Special Edition of the Ocean GMT from Steinhart.

I think it's the best-looking GMT out there (an homage to the Rolex 1655, but a MUCH better watch than that 70s Rollie). And the exclusivity is cool - it's almost always SOLD OUT and you gotta time your order within minutes of them coming available on the OLKO website.

It is, hands down, the best watch I own.

There are many days when its hard to wear anything else, to be honest. This one has more than enough WR, looks dressy enough for the office, is eye-catching and interesting without being too much, and has great functionality. If I ever had a one watch collection, there is a strong case for this being it.

You won’t be disappointed with the cw gmt! the quick release bracelet is phenomenal and lets you try out whatever strap suits your fancy!

I have this model - you pictured - and am about to put it up for sale. Only had it just over a year, and it's spotless. Let me know if you're interested. 👍

I think the Sealander has a great reputation, it looks like a tool and CW is reliable. Let me know how it goes! (Or I’ll have to figure it out myself lol) cheers!

I’ll let you know👍🏼

Maybe the Black or dragonfly blue dial would have been better?🤔

Damn. The taxes and duty’s are gonna make it expensive for me

Possibly true I do need to add some colour to the collection full stop!
