FXD my need for an FXD

Last week I picked it up from a pre-owned watch dealer. A 23 MN, first bought in February, advertised as mint and it certainly is. I travelled to buy it as I haven’t quite got my head around buying a watch unseen even if I’ve tried it on before.

I am on a list for the FXD, but when I called the AD recently as I was nearly ready to pull the trigger on a new watch, the reaction I got was don’t call us, we’ll call you. So I decided to go pre-owned.

Enough has been said about the FXD but I love the mat dial and bezel, finishing is superb and it wears perfectly. So many little touches like the over sized bezel and dial coloured central hand stack that elevates this watch above the ordinary. A serious tool watch that’s also a lot of fun.

Oh and those fixed lugs, my god the fixed lugs…………..

Congratulations! My favourite watch!

I'm on the wait list also!

I actually tried one on which was available at an AD a while ago but I had recently bought a PO1 so couldn't justify the expense to my financial controller ( Mrs) so I couldn't get it at the time and now I'm waiting.

I tried on the new Red Bull version today

at an AD. Not for sale though. I'm going to wait for the blue one like yours. Just the perfect tool watch diver imo!

Awesome watch! This is really the only Tudor that interests me. I do wish there were other colors. I already have a comparable diver in blue and just can’t rationalize a second. Congrats and enjoy.

·

Congratulations on a beautiful timepiece.

Totally agree, there’s nothing there that doesn’t need to be

Thank you! And yes I did see the new red bull FXD, at first I thought typical, just as I buy one they bring out a cheaper version😂 but I made the right choice. The MN is the one to have

I bought myself a Seiko Naomi Uemura last year, which is another blue diver. Apparently the FXD is more of a navigation tool, so basically a completely different watch to a dive watch 😀

True true but it has the same aesthetic. I don’t have the budget for too many similar pieces. I do like your logic though. I wonder if my wife will buy that argument. “It’s not another blue diver honey! It’s a navigation aid” 😂

It does check a lot of boxes for me. TI, elegant and tough as nails.

Welcome to the club! Entrance fee is 10 straps, so buckle up!

I think that watch is absolutely fabulous and fits you perfectly! They have bought out a colab watch in carbon ceramic ( Adrian from Bark & Jack reviews it ) I only wish they also bought out a FXD 39 mm alongside the 39 mm Pelegos which is an awesome watch , I just really would like the FXD system as a surfer and water man to take the knocks and not disappear in big surf off my wrist ( skinny 6” ) congratulations on a good buy :)

That Red bull watch looked great as does the chronograph version too , I hope they do a 39 mm version in ceramic ( not Red Bull racing ) I would definitely get one !

Haha thank you, and yes I’ll need a few NATO’s of varying colours for sure. Have done any research yet in to the best strap brands so if you have any advice in to what’s best that would be much appreciated 🙂

Phenomenato, Nick Mankey Design Hook Strap, Bonetto Cinturini (rubber), Zuludiver, basically any Zulu, NATO, or other 22mm strap works great. The opening is 22.5 so I wouldn’t go less than 22. The OEM straps are actually really good too if you like the look, but there’s a whole world out there for 22mm single pass straps.

Thank you!! That will keep me occupied for a day or two
