As the strap is on the opposite side to the hand, if you bend your hand back the watch simply moves with your hand as you bend it back. It has flex, and you eluded to it being possibly thin, you are correct the side wall is just under 7mm thin. In essence you have full wrist movement, the watch does not stop your wrist from movement, do you feel the watch when bending backwards yes you do but it certainly does not hurt or injure one’s hand or wrist 🙂 greatly appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and feedback 🙏 Regards Kyle
