I've got an itch...

Hey folks!

Hope everyone is keeping well!

So recently, i've gotten an itch that i think only buying a new watch can fix. As usual  i've scoured the forums and chrono24 trying to find something but i'm racked with indecision so i thought i'd see if the good folks over here could provide some suggestions.

The new piece must:

  • be stainless steel
  • have a blue OR white dial with high contrast numerals/indices/hands
  • be a diver with a rotating bezel
  • have somewhat vintage design features
  • have NO faux patina
  • price range up to $10k (I'm very open to micro brands as well which fall far short of the top end of this budget)

Let's hear your suggestions and thanks in advance!

Cheers!

great choice and something i had actually looked at - perhaps a little bit too thick.

funily enough, i was also looking at the SLA043J1. that's definitely on the shortlist!

What do you have in your collection? I think the best diver is the Tudor Black Bay 58 in my opinion however I haven’t experienced every diver on the market another I would like to have ago with is the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms

I posted that first but you said stainless steel so I thought you wanted it on a bracelet. The SLA’s a super nice, it’s on my short list as well 😂 since I missed out on the limited edition SPB149

Your description perfectly matches the Glashutte Original SeaQ.

yeah the blackbay does look like an interesting proposition and i did try it on, but it just didn't "feel" right for some reason. I've also tried on the blancpain but i feel like there's too much "dial real-estate" haha I was looking at the pelagos in blue and though it's not SS, it did speak to me more than the BB blue.

yeah, the omega is a good choice and i've owned a couple of the SMP300s but for me, the helium escape valve and the skeleton hands just ends up making me dislike looking at my wrist!

absolutely agree - it has everything i want and i've been lusting after it for a while. i just feel like you don't really get a lot for the price you pay!

tbh,  if seiko came out with a blue dial variant to the SPB143 i'd be the first in line to get it! the SPB149 might be the closest to it.

However, they do offer a white dial and blue bezel option SPB213. And there is a special edition as well that features a blue dial.

Funny you say the pelagos as that was going to be my first pick for you but as you specified SS I discounted it, nice collection and a fellow pam lover 💪

I was wearing this the day my daughter was born so will never leave my collection

Nice collection already! Here’s my very biased choices, as I’ve been quite happy with my Omegas and GS’s:

Hard to beat the Seamaster '57.  I love that watch.

The Christopher Ward C65 Super Compressor ticks a lot of the boxes in the OP.  Interesting as it is a true Super Compressor as well.

just wondering - is there a marine master with a fully lumed bezel?

+1 for the Omega 300. The newly released version has no signs of fauxtina as OP requested, but I love the Trilogy version personally.
