New Omega Seamaster Releases

Hey Folks - hope everyone is having a great start to the week.

I wanted to get everyone's thoughts on the new Seamaster releases: which model has you excited or is this another nothing burger from Omega?

Personally the only piece that caught my eye was the Ploprof, but even then i think there is just too much blue to the point that it looks a bit cheap and add to that the 13k GBP price tag and it's an emphatic NO from me!

Am I being overly harsh? Let me know your thoughts.

Cheers!

I really loved the Heritage Seamaster 300 and the Ploprof in this blue. The Seasmaster 300 in particular with the mix of blues is so fresh looking for a dive watch. Also, happy that the Ploprof is still in their catalog and not discontinued.

Massively underwhelmed. Just updating the braclement on the 300m professional would have been enough for me. But no, how about some more blue.

100% agree on this!

yeah i likes the 300 at first glance as well. I'm worried that when i try it on though, i'm going to have the same let down as the current 300 with the fauxtina!

agreed - feels like a very lazy release for a 75th anniversary tbh

Gotta catch them all before they are discontinued. Omega thrives on that generated FOMO hype and artificial scarcity. I’d be surprised if any of these are still available next year.

·

Not really my thing but I'm sure someone will like it. Otherwise they wouldn't bother.

Apparently ice blue is the new purple these days. I call it this colour baby blue... And I am not interested in a baby blue watch.

·

The colors are attractive, but I’m disappointed there was nothing more exciting in the drop. Update the 300m bracelet? Please?

The new case-backs don’t do it for me, the sculpture is too busy and not very attractive to my eye.

Omega probably will not revise the bracelet until there's a completely new generation of 300m. (or Aqua Terra, for that matter) And it'll probably pair a new movement to design the case around it. (Probably the new movement will be developed around Spirate regulating system debuted on Speedmaster Super Racing earlier this year)

And even if Omega does introduce the new bracelet, I'm not sure if it will significantly change the design of the bracelet, since the design of it is part of the "heritage". I think that tapering bracelet may improve the wearability, but it doesn't fit the aesthetic of the 300m. (I own an old 2220.80, and I just paired it with a NATO strap.) At least, I wish the clasp would get smaller, and individual link be a bit thinner, but I found out that tapering bracelet doesn't fit the design language of the 300m. (I tried the Forstner bracelet on it before swapping out for the NATO)

As for the watches, I came a bit more impressed because I thought Omega was only releasing special editions of 300m and Aqua Terra, but it actually managed to address the entire range, even resurrecting PloProf with new monobloc case. (It was out of production for a while) Sure, it's only new colors, but the concept behind them (deeper colors for deeper water resistance rating) and how Omega executed them was impressive to me.
