Paying homage to ancient references

In one of my previous posts I made the claim that homages are especially uncontroversial, if the underlying reference is long out of production. I mean: who would actually daily a real 1st gen Explorer or Sub, even if he had the money to get one?

This Bubbleback homage by AliExpress-brand Baltany is another fine example to back my claim, or what do you guys and gals think? It even features the NH-38 (so: no ghost position).

Great little watch. I’ve just picked up the Keaorius version

In my opinion, even if the original manufacturer/designer is still cranking them out, things become public domain after a period of time. That period of time used to be about 34 years. This would be twice as old.

Browsing around on Ali, Baltany has some cool vintage inspired pieces!

I think the general consensus from this awesome thread started by @Deeperblue was that we love homage watches of all colors and sizes.  They are welcome here on WC, whether the "homaged" brand is still extant or not.  👍
