Storted out a botched repair by another Watch repairer on this one owner vintage Seiko 7548.
Found that the previous repairer had fitted a generic crystal which was glued in place which then ruined the crystal gasket. The Dial minute marker tab was damaged and had been re painted or touched up with a marker pen or similar. The date wheel tooth at number 8 was damaged and had to be re aligned.
luckily I had a period correct crystal and good original gasket.
This is why you should never let a watch repairer who is not familiar with the make and model to repair your watch.
So after repairs and a full service it’s back to full health and should last many more years. Back to the owner who was told it can’t be repaired.

KiwiSeiko is still awaiting a thank you message from Seiko Japan for saving many of their diver watches. I need a beer after that botched job. 😇🍺
Very very nice my man! I wish I got into this hobby earlier so that I could build up parts stock of these older watches. Finding parts is the big reason I'm reluctant to tackle such older pieces.
I'm always amazed at how long these watches lasted. You can see by the wear that they lived a rough life.
Looks like one of my mods LOL Great work, man 👍
