On the bench this weekend Vintage Seiko 7548 Pepsi

On the bench this weekend a very early 7548-700B with an early production date of May 1978.

Because of the early production date this one is a rare bird due to having a crown with coarse teeth as found on the 6306 and some early 6309 divers it’s rare to see these crowns on a 7548, it also had a metal intermediate date change wheel instead of the usual plastic one.

The owner of the Watch did use it as a dive watch but hasn’t used it for many years and didn’t know if it was still working or not.

Upon opening the case back luckily the battery hadn’t leaked which is the main cause of death for these Quartz divers.

So after a full strip down and service this old bird is back to good health.

The only items not retained were the main hands due to lume rot.

Merry Christmas brother.

I'm not sure "master" is applicable. I have a go. Ha ha.
