PRX or small second Tsuyosa?

Hey Crunchers,

I was recently looking to pick up an integrated bracelet watch, and was leaning towards the PRX

But the new Small second version of the Tsuyosa has now caught my eye.

What do people think? May end up with both eventually, but which first 🤔

This is hard as I have a PRX quartz and love it and I just got the ice blue tsuyosa which has grown on me and wearing the past two days. I don’t have the small second hand version but it was on my list. I say either one you go with you won’t be disappointed, just know that the way the tsuyosa case is designed in my opinion it wears smaller than the PRX.

Tsuyosa but the original yellow one

I’m a full on Prx fanboy but the guilloche style on the dial is lovely.

100% agree 👍

You can‘t go wrong with either of them! Both are great designs in their own right. I own the PRX (in fact two: dark blue and ice blue) as well as the Tsujosa (the yellow one wirhout the small second). I like them all, but if I have to choose just one my vote would be the PRX in dark blue. I am confident I will enjoy it in the years to come whereas I have a feeling I might be not so bullish anymore about the more vibrant colors in the future. Anyhow I bet you will end up picking both and that is torally fine. :-) PS Get the PRX first. Just saying

PRX Quartz?

Just picked up the Tsuyosa...don't have a PRX...

The dial is fantastic and you can pick one up at Jomashop for under $300...definitely better value than the PRX.

·

IMO- Get the PRX.. better all around.. the citizen one is getting lots of buzz lately.. some got paid to shove it down peoples throat. Good luck 👍🏼

·

For me it's all about wrist a size and how both of these options wear. Anything under 7" looks better with the 35mm option which is only available in the PRX. Wish Tsuyosa update would've came in a 37mm, but that's just my opinion 🤓

Cheers for the opinions guys, yet to see the small second Tsuyosa in person, so probably leaning towards the PRX

But that guilloche dial is 😍

·

I own both - a 40mm PRX black dial and Tsuyosa red dial in Rose Gold. The Tsuyosa is the better watch IMO, and I say that as a Tissot fan. The PRX does win in having a more interesting and better bracelet, but Tsuyosa crushes it in in dial, hands, lume, and case shape/wearability. Wearability is subjective I will grant you, but those other elements are pretty stark with both in hand.

·

Going tsuyosa, if your wrist can handle the larger size, however do keep in mind I think the PRX is more of an everyday wear vs the new tsuyosa. The PRX is awesome too though, I have the 35mm myself.

My Tsuyosa SS is fantastic.

Small seconds on modern watches offend me.

·

The PRX is fantastic. I get more random compliments when I wear mine more than any other watch I own. That being said, the tsuyosa small seconds looks really nice and is a few hundred cheaper, but the PRX bracelet is excellent, and looks MUCH better than the Tsuyosa's.

If you were going to go with the 40mm PRX, I think the Tsuyosa small seconds is the better buy. However, the 35mm PRX Powermatic destroys them both, haha.

I wore a quartz PRX for an entire year so I’m a little biased. Maybe I should sit this one out.

I just realized Citizen took out the date window and cyclops on the Tsuyosa SS, this makes me want to get it even more since my biggest complaint on my white dial Tsuyosa was the date window location and the cyclops

Can get a used PRX on the cheap too maybe

Agreed, both can be found for less than retail from online shops, but the Tsuyosa is still commonly available for 30% less than the Powermatic 80 versions of the PRX, the quartz PRX can be had for even less so would be the best option if an automatic movement was not a requirement

Small seconds!

·

The Tsuyosa absolutely smashed the PRX

·

And that's how fast Hype Watches are gone again. :)

·

I have both

I have both

And they are both great

You see I have the PRX Powermatic with the waffle dial, and have to say the citizen is definitely a looker, the issue is the small seconds, I think they should have either made the dial slightly smaller as it breaks the swirl of the pattern on the watch too much for me unfortunately
