Glycine Combat Sub 39 Blue - It's mo' better brushed!

I always liked this model, the Glycine Combat Sub 39 Blue. For me, the blue tone in the bezel insert and dial has one of the best true dark blue colors without any greenish tint to it like some other blue divers might have. Additionally, the overall quality is quite good, too. However, I never liked the high polished center links on the bracelet. It's just too blingy and doesn't match the watch head since it's practically all brushed finish as well. So, as soon as I received my new Combat Sub, I removed the bracelet and got to work on brush finishing the high polish center links ASAP. After about maybe an hour or carefully brushing out the center links, I achieved the proper look the bracelet and watch deserves. So, here it is. I think it looks WAY better and I actually want to wear the Sub on the bracelet this time. A very recent rebuy, the Glycine Combat Sub 39 Blue I had first owned back around April 2022 when they were initially released. I had it for several months, but, I ended up selling it for whatever reasons at the time. I had always liked it as it was a great watch for the price. So, fast forward to now around March 2024, after a very long time being out of stock it seems, the Combat Sub 39 are back in stock again. And, I decided to pick one up again while I could find them on sale for around $500. The same model as I had owned while modifying the bracelet as I described above.

Thanks. Not too hard to do. And, I shared a link to a video I made on basically how I did it recently. Just took my time and carefully applied the brush texture. Totally worth the effort as it makes a huge improvement in the aesthetic and joy factor when wearing this on the oem bracelet option now that it has the proper overall brushed finishing.

A definite improvement - there aren’t many watches that polished looks good on … and with the passage of time it only looks worse.

The new “smaller” Bulova Lunar Pilot has both plenty of brushing and a butterfly clasp … on a tool watch!? There’s a few might take inspiration from this and improve those.

Yes, it now looks much more tool and purpose built. Besides, never understood why with a watch that has "Combat" in the name and on the dial, what's it doing with any high polish elements? Anyways, self-rectified and taken care of.
