Long time ago, when I started collecting almost 10 years ago. I had a watch box of six. Today, my rule is still six. This for me ensures that I wear everything that I collect, and things become one in and one out. Currently the collection is at five, And I'm thinking to myself of adding a G-Shock. The difficulty is that the G-Shock would be a beater watch, and I'm waffling with the idea that it shouldn't be counted against the six watch limit.
Yeah, I have to say that IWC is known for their pilot line back when machismo was all the rage of the early 2000's.
But the IWC dress watch lines are not often discussed. I personally think the new Portifino calendars are elegant - competitive with JLC. Absolutely off the beaten path, and a well-overlooked gem
I actually own both and would recommend a bit of self-reflection. The Grand Seiko and datejust are often crossed shopped. The distinguishment is whether or not you want more of a tool watch or a dress watch. Although both are serving the same purposes, I find that Grand Seiko owners are afraid of getting scratches on the legendary polishing. This is a hurdle for most. Another consideration is whether you want people to know that you spent the type of money on a luxury watch. Grand Seiko screams luxury without branding. Rolex screams branding and suggests a well-built watch second. Not for anything, I can't say that the datejust is a one stop watch that fits into many categories - the Grand Seiko can be the same if you overcome the hurdle of where you're watches and allowing them to get scratches. I hope this helps!
Thank you! I wanted to have something that is would wear if one day I no longer wanted the hassle of watch nuances and collecting.
This watch tickles my fancy now and perceived old me
