This is my Boldr Titanium Venture Automatic

It's made out of recycled Titanium which was one of the reasons I bought it. I also wanted a watch I could wear outdoors and not worry about scratching. When I first got the watch I wasn't sure how I felt about it and I am still the same now. Sometimes I really love the look and other times I am not so keen. It is a bit difficult to colour match this kind of watch and the NATO strap it comes with, I do find uncomfortable. What does everyone think?

Sometimes it can be hard to read in the dark.

Likes: titanium, hands, size, crown at 4pm, it has minute markers

Dislikes: the color, lack of contrast. Just go full minimalist or full readability. Don't try to half ass either

Nice to Haves: recycled

Can't comment on: Strap

Well I appreciate the honesty 😂😂. Well it looks like you have got a lot of use out of the watch! How long have you owned it for? Haha we all have to have that one ugly watch in our collection 😂. It makes all the other watches much more special. Accuracy is very important especially if you wear it everyday.

I couldn't get on with the nato strap my Boldr came with, they do sell a full titanium bracelet for the venture and it transforms the watch to something I activity want to wear alot. I would definitely recommend it

Yeah I have seen bracelets like these on the Boldr website and I have thought about getting one. I am just wondering why they don't make the titanium bracelets out of recycled Titanium as well. Yeah the NATO strap on my Boldr is too tight and rubs my wrist when I wear tight jackets. Thank you for showing me.

I like the Boldr Venture line quite a bit but this particular flavor just feels too flat in my opinion if that makes sense. If they changed the handset color to white it would really improve readability (if not the numerals). If I was going to pair, I’d go with a white or black strap… stick with the more minimalistic approach. Good luck! 🤙

I'm guessing it's a quarts watch? It is a good watch to collect and shame they did not design it to look better. Does it have a sapphire crystal? Or was it a budget watch when first sold?

Thank you, I agree I like the venture line and I think it has really good value for the money. I am not sure why they chose to make the watch 100% titanium and not include different dial colours. What would you buy instead of a Boldr venture?

How about this little stunner, it can be all yours for a mere $40 bucks AUD 🤣

I am not sure what specifically drew you to that watch to begin with so wouldn’t be suited to offer an alternative. I recommend trying out new bands first before deciding to part ways with it. If that doesn’t work, I suggest determining what drew you to the watch originally (whether it’s the titanium construction, case design, dial design/color, etc) and then surveying the group for watches that showcase that aspect. Good luck! 🤙

I just recently ordered up one of their Venture lines the Field Medic 2. I’ve got to admit the titanium was a big part of the draw for me. I saw yours and found the recycled titanium interesting but couldn’t get on with the look of it. I’d follow @bevelwerks suggestion and try out a couple of alternate bands and see if it grows on you.

·

Thanks for the suggestion I will try some new watch straps and see how it goes. How are you finding the Field Medic 2?

Yeah... I didn't care for the OEM strap either. I had mine on a Chevron single pass nylon strap from Crown and Buckle (which I really liked) but then Long Island Watch came out with a line of Elastic Woven Nylon Straps so I tried one and it hasn't been off that strap since.  I like it a lot and it's breathable for Chicago summers (98° today)

And as for my opinion on the watch... I rotate through about 10 watches lately and most of mine are high contrast.  I bought this one specifically because of the monochrome look.  I like it as a contrast to my other watches.  I was concerned I would have trouble reading it quickly, but that hasn't been the case at all.  I'm a fan.

For everyone that hasn't seen one in person - it does not photograph well - it is much easier to read in real life than any photos make it appear.

I do prefer single pass NATO straps to the one the watch came with. It matches really well with the watch and in my opinion gives it a sports vibe. Yes you are right, it definitely looks worse in the photos. It is a very different and unique time piece.

With my Boldr automatic I wear mostly when I am out in the garden or doing physical things where I don't mind getting scratches. I like the whole sustainability aspect of the watch and the price point was just right for me as I got it in a sale. What other watches do you have?

It looks nice, I wonder what is the size of your wrist. I have some doubts still since my wrist is 7,5 inches
