To Grail or not to Grail!

I think my answer is probably not to Grail. What is yours? The rest of this about my particular situation and thoughts on the future possibilities of a Grail watch in the future so you don't have to continue reading because it'll be long. ๐Ÿ˜‚ I started collecting a little over 3 years ago. I have already aquired the models of watches I wanted. They are not typical Grail watches but other than Rolex I didn't even know anything about very expensive luxury watches. I live a very blue collar lower income and really just having anything but a simple couple of $50 -$100 watches wouldn't be very normal for someone like me. If somehow come into crazy money I may get into something that might be considered a Grail but It's not likely. I am not at all unhappy about that fact. I very much enjoy what I have and collecting at my level. The above pictured watch is my favorite watch and I have yet to see anything at any price that I would rather have on my wrist. Several of the other watches I own are watches that I saw and had to get because they just got stuck in my head. There is a JLC, a Zenith, and a Cartier I would love to have but probably not in the cards for me. I am picking not to Grail because that's my reality and I will be very happy with my Life if it goes either way ! ๐Ÿป

You've got some nice time pieces in your collection brother! That Rolex Deep Sea-Dweller is going to set you back quite a bit. Then you have to remember the maintenance cost.

That grail watch isn't going to make you a better human being and get you into fancier restaurants.

ROCK what you LOVE ... BUY what you can afford!

Grails donโ€™t exist.

I came to a similar conclusion a few years ago. Spending more money on watches was not going to make me more happy with the watches I bought. There are days my $55 Timex Atlantis brings me more joy than my $2K Marathon GSAR.

For me it came down to the reality that spending thousands on watches meant I didn't have those thousands to spend on other priorities like travel, camping, kayaking, and experiences like concerts/museums.

There is no reason to spend more money than you're comfortable spending on something as silly as a watch. A $55 Timex Atlantis is all the watch 99.99% of people need, so anything above that is a luxury.

I have watches on my wish list that could be considered grail, they are mostly obtainable and Iโ€™m trying hard not to buy for the sake of it however Iโ€™m failing miserably. I have bought 4 watches this year so the collection continues to grow. At some point I will thin it out as I wanted to increase the quality of my collection however Jamir23 is correct, rock what you want. The biggest mistake a lot of people make is to chase it and be influenced by bloggers or crap hype. On this site I think itโ€™s very well balanced and you will find there are people with serious (and I mean seriously) expenses collections but they will treat you and so will everyone else, in the very same way if there is someone with a collection of Casioโ€™s. When we talk about God tier watches, Casio is recognised as a shoe in at this level. So everything goes. ๐Ÿ˜

Got my Grail a few years ago, love it more everyday. It's saved me a fortune,as any potential purchases would be competing for wrist time.

Go for it! You'll be glad you did ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Whatever makes you happy is what itโ€™s all about!

being sure to be happy either way, my choice is to grail. one never knows what the future holds and i prefer the expansive feeling of staying open to that, regardless of what actually transpires.

Yeah, unless you really want to spend time dealing with persistent shoulder pain, that Deepsea is a novelty. Not wearable as a daily unless you are like Andre the Giant size.

Get that Cartier, brother! For both of us ๐Ÿ˜‚

I love the looks of the Rolex Deep Sea but it won't ever be seriously considered even if the boats of money come my way. It was really just used as an example pic of a Grail watch. ๐Ÿ˜‚
