UK based watch enthusiast, as a kid I had Casio's, Timex and Swatch watches then though my 20's nothing. But in my late 30's rediscovered the pleasure of having a watch on my wrist.
My wife brought me a watch box because she was fed up of finding them around the house, there were spaces I needed to fill.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
First watch I remember buying for myself was a Pop Swatch when I was around 10.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
I lost most of my childhood watches when I left home. I then lost more in a break in in 2009. I have a $1 wind up watch I purchased in China that holds alot if fond memories and still ticks. I also have a couple of special purchases that have sentimental value that I will never part with.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Don't waste you money on fads or because someone tells you it's a good watch or because you think it is an investment. Buy things you love, don't rush into buying things and never take out credit to buy a watch.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
I spent a lot of time thinking about JLC, Cartier and Nomos
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
I can honestly say I don't have one. I will keep growing my collection, I will keep you posted.
