Haha ๐Ÿ˜‚ your are right, I am very proud of them. I mean it more as I can wear them for any activity like swimming, casual, hiking, I do take very good care of them when wearing them. I donโ€™t limit myself in my activites but do try to stay cognizant of where my wrist is

Luminor and SMP300 are two of my three, "if I had all the money" watches, with the third being the planet ocean. I wear all my watches with that same attitude, only specifically choosing a g shock when I'm about to use some very angry machinery/tools or do something particularly filthy. My whole collection is made of beaters and even beater-y beaters.

I guess that's also my answer to the 5 daily beaters post... All of my watches fall into that category.

Yeah I try to wear them as much as possible but I donโ€™t do anything to crazy in the day to day I am a physical therapist so itโ€™s not like Iโ€™m under sinks like a plumber or working construction carrying 30 ft ladders. I do wear them to the gym but with dumbbells and cables your wrist shouldnโ€™t be rubbing against anything and same with hiking unless I like fell down unexpectedly. Even with my g shock I had but now sold Iโ€™d try not to smash it against stuff. All my watches are in good shape.

I'm never going to not be mindful of my watch or wrist, but I don't like to have to worry about it. I don't want to subject them to harm for no reason, but I also don't want them to be so vulnerable that I'm kept from doing normal things. Same goes for my physical body. I'm going to be aware enough not to go banging my hands into things for no reason or declining to wear gloves when appropriate, but I don't want to be so concerned with what might happen to my hands that I decide not to get normal, reasonable stuff done.

I guess I like my watches to be at least as resilient as my hands, so keeping it safe is a result of my natural respect for my hands. The real exception to that is crazy strong vibrations and intense shock, so that's a consideration I try to account for when I pick a watch for the day. I've worn certain clothes, something scraped or poked them, and I wished my skin had taken the brunt of that and not my clothes, and that always feels really silly to me. Just writing this I'm having a flashback to when my mother handed me her cat that poked a hole in my thin, fashionable leather jacket. Why am I wearing clothes that make me feel extra vulnerable? It doesn't work for me.

Oris Big Crown w/PITA integrated Ti bracelet and carbon fiber dial - good all around daily beater for schlepping to Home Depot, Ralph's, Total Wine. It has its share of overseas stories, hard-knocks and door-jamb encounters. Great ETA movement... w/day-date feature.
