Really love the speedy 3861

Really want it but the retail price too high, shall go secondary market? Advice

From any reputable website, secondary market is sometimes a great option. I got a Tudor Black Bay GMT on the secondary market in excellent condition and was not disappointed. 👌

It’s the kind of classic watch you buy once. If it were me, I’d try to get a discount at an AD. The watch market has softened significantly in the past year, and even though the Speedy is an ever popular choice I think a good offer would have a chance.

I see no reason to pay full retail price for any luxury watch. I would check various forums first for new items at a discount or go preowned with warranty remainder or known service history.

Got mine from secondary market.... in Japan. Had it sent to US. Even with shipping and duty, it cost less to get my Speedy Pro w/ box and papers. There's quite a few reputable dealers in Japan who are selling watches at a good price and shipping internationally.

If you’re in London. I can get you discount at an omega boutique.

Unless you want that boutique experience or to build a relationship, I don't see why you'd buy brand new as watches can be polished back to looking like brand new. Buying used can and will save you heaps especially if you're patient and have an eye out for a deal. The speedy is no where near a rare watch so there are plenty of them out there for the picking for your budget.
