So, alongside the Mondaine...

... here's a few other bits I've been working on recently.
Clockwise from the bottom left;
The black dial Seiko is a 6119 from February 1973.
This was a fairly straightfoward refurb and service job. The case doesn't look too bad in the picture but it was actually pretty bashed up. It took about 6 hours to complete the case alone.
Luckily I don't do this for a living.
It went up on eBay and sold within 37 minutes, so I must have done something right 😊
It's very rewarding and satisfying to see these little watches go to new homes.
The "Pretty in Pink" is a custom build for someone here on WC. The dial is from a company called Komo and is loooovely. The other bits came from Namoki and it's packing a properly regulated - by me - NH35.
I'm pleased to say it was a big success with the aforementioned WC member.
The green Citizen is a 6501 from the early 70s and has a Kanji only day. It's had a service, a case refurbish and a nice new crystal (All the way from France). The case had a nice mix of brushed and polished surfaces and I've stayed faithful to that.
The caseback still has its original protective sticker which I've left on, despite the urge to peel it off to see how shiny it was. I had to find a replacement stem as the one in this was badly bent and beyond straightening... I know... I tried... and failed.
It has its original bracelet which I will refurbish at some point but, at the moment, it's on a Geckota "Beads of Rice" bracelet.
The green Seiko is an Actus from 1975 with a hacking 6106 movement. It was commission from @Guvnor64 for his wife's birthday. Big softie. It did have a faceted crystal...
but I (with Craig's approval) decided to replace it with a suitable flat Seiko hardlex crystal which cost more than the national debt of Lichtenstein. It got the usual service and case refurb treatment. I was really happy with this one and, luckily, so was Craig's wife.
I've hung the tweezers up now for a while as I'm waiting for parts on a Seiko 5606 Lordmatic.
There is an inherent fault with the 56 series movement in that the day/date rocker, which is made of plastic, degrades and breaks. It spoils what would otherwise be a fabulous movement.
I'm also waiting on a tool to remove the rotor (why use a screw, that would be too simple) on this pretty Citizen with a faceted acrylic crystal.
Until next time folks
♥

Thank you Per.
I feel like a 5 year old in a candy store 😍
My Mrs, the lovely Leigh is very excited she has had a mention on watchcrunch and is still in love with her Gasworks Seiko.
I didn't get the blue one back which was the plan so I will have to think of something else now. Or I might just ask you to find another green Actus but for me this time!?
Great work as ever brother!
