Unexpected Wind Up Watch Fair Formex Deal :)
Ever since last years Wind Up fair I've been thinking about Formex. Why? Because after buying my Christopher Ward Sealander GMT at that same fair which became my favorite watch, I then found out later that Formex makes their watches with this suspension case dealibob thing and I thought, shoot, maybe I could drum with a watch on par with my CW but can take the shocks better like a G-shock does but looks and feels as good as my CW.
I reached out last year to Formex and they even told me about a drummer that they work with that wears their watches so it seemed to be cool.
But, I wanted to try them on again and not make yet another impulse buy, so after waiting alllllll year, finally today I made it in and was the first one at the booth, lol
After chatting with Marcus (or Markus?) for a bit and trying on some watches he told me they had some pre-owned watches there at the fair that had been returned and then refurbished but they had a few scratches etc....but they were discounted a little bit so.....I took the leap and got the watch.
I even got to try out my new Formex Essence 39 on a the drums for a gig tonight. All in all, a very lovely watch. (although I think I still like the Sealanders Bader bracelet a bit more). But hey I got a couple hundred off just for a few scratches, and still get the 3 year warranty so I'm happy.
Looking forward to heading back tomorrow and exploring more watch finds.

Midlife crisis is hitting me in the watch face. Wife and daughter have zero interest in watches so here I am. Crisis started with a cheap HMT watch from eBay, then a spin of the dreaded “wheel” got me...
