What are your thoughts or experience with RW? I'm considering getting a moon phase dress watch and this brand attracts me. Not many WC rock this brand, not sure if I want to purchase one or something else.... Any advice will be appreciated thanks ๐

Raymond Weil is a totally solid brand. Great entry level Swiss luxury watches. Quality standard Swiss movements and nicely finished cases. You can generally find them for a nice discount from list (including in places like Jomashop). Designs are usually based on classic Swiss watch designs.
Prior to starting his eponymous brand in 1976, Raymond Weil was an executive at CAMY.
Here are a couple of CAMY watches I have in the collection (including a Cronel another CAMY brand)...

I have several RWs in the collection, but I have yet to provide a wrist shot.

Sorry to hear that - we all have our war stories.
If you decide to purchase a Raymond Weil from a department store like Macy's, remember you can always ask for a discount from retail. Little known secret - just show the discounted price from the internet to your salesperson and ask them if they can match it. They may not be able to match it exactly because they are a proper AD (and not grey market), but they will do their best to get you a discount. I have done this a number of times.
This is my late Dadโs Raymond Weil. Twenty nine years old and still going strong.
Been there done that I'm an old school shopper like you. ๐

Thanks Ian, one picture speaks a thousand words ๐
Raymond Weil are as good as any other Swiss brands in their segment. Iโve had a couple now and theyโve been brilliant. Really nice finishing and attention to detail.
My RW diver has one of the best rubber straps Iโve come across and the deployant clasp is a treat. Theyโve done such a good job on this strap that it passes for leather.
Iโve also got this LE Bob Marley Tango. My only issue with this one is that I either need to run it with a tight or loose fit. No matter what I do I canโt get a perfect fit, but sometimes thatโs just how it goes.
RW is a bit of a sleeper brand. They have some great models but donโt get the fanfare of other brands. Not sure why we donโt see more of them on WC, but I think people are missing out by overlooking them and ultimately miss out and some great watches.

Thank you Sir for your honesty and sincerity. The wristshots are great. I don't own any on rubber strap but the one I am eyeballing has a blue leather strap. I don't have any leather strap either

Are you looking at the Maestro collection? The dial on them look beautiful.
Raymond Weil is a great watch. It's totally underrated. I wear in my rotation and it never disappoints!
Here's my RW Tradition 5768, made in early 2000s, and sold to previous owner in 2004. Very stylish and elegant Tank homage, Swiss quartz movement, really no complaints.
I really like their "dressy" pieces, great watches for the money, specially if you can find it on a used market.
Watch is 25x35mm, wrist is 6.5inch, but with this case shape and photo angle it looks substantial.
From a different angle it's a really classy small watch.
Itโs a solid watch brand that has been making some interesting peices. Iโve owned one for a number of years, just donโt wear it often because my old eyes have trouble reading a skeletonized dial.
I have RW W1 quartz since 1998 and it still works there without problems, I think it is a great brand of Swiss entry level watches

Best sapphire and AR among all of my watches.
Loving the Roman numbers and the traintrack around the dial, beautiful ๐! Thanks
Love the Raymond Weil Moonphase
Simple dial and Roman numbers on that blue ๐
I've never owned a RW but I have pawed them at department & jewelry stores and the seem to be well made watches.
Thanks SurferJohn
I have a RW from many years ago. I agree - a solid brand. I guess not as respected as Tissot because it doesn't have history but should be on the same level as many modern entry level luxury brands and should certainly get more cred than a bunch of micro brands that have recently popped up like mushrooms after the rain.
I have the Maestro small seconds. Itโs been a great watch for me. It looks good, feels good when adjusting the time and has been accurate and reliable for many years now. The strap quality is better than almost everything Iโve seen at itโs price point. Itโs been about a decade with this watch now and Iโm still happy with it.
RW is a premium brand. I have RW Maestro Automatic watch with me using since December 2016.Great watch with look and feel. They have their in-house movement RW Caliber 4200. Definitely you can go for this brand ๐.
Longines for the same money it is just better in every aspect
For Gods sake buy pre owned, great brand but way over at retail.....
Just got my first RW yesterday, this is the tango gmt 300 diver. I love it. It feels way more than ยฃ1,195 and it wears incredibly. The movement is so high quality I cant hear a thing even when it's right up to my ear
Longines for the same money it is just better in every aspect
I already own a Longines
I love Raymond Weil! The watches wear and feel so high quality

They have good solid, proper Swiss watches! I own a dress watch from their maestro line. Really good quality and at least for me very appealing visually .

Mine came on black leather, but i just love this burgundy strap.)
Adds a little pop of tamed color.
I must say, for a watch thatโs 20 years old, itโs original strap was in pretty decent shape
