Is it okay to get two of the same watches? (but different color)

Heya there thanks for checking out this post. I've been having a small conundrum as of recently. I've been thinking about getting the silver F-91 W and putting in a Bond Nato strap. However I already have a gold F91W so I feel as if it's sort a cheap and bad thing to do. Because why buy two of the exact same watches? Have you ever done this with any of your watches? At the same time it's kind of like. Well the gold one Id wear to work since I don't care about it getting beat up while the silver one I can wear when I don't have work. Should I or should I not do this? I'm open to all opinions and advice!

Don't Loose Track of Time, See ya!

When I find an item of clothing I really like, I buy it in multiple colours, why not do the same with accessories?

Given the price, and the fact you clearly like the design, why not?

I have two 40mm CW C60s, one steel with a blue dial/bezel, the other bronze with a blue dial.

You bring a valid point! I probably consider it. Knowing how long they last too!

100% it's okay to buy both!

That's fair enough and I definitely see myself wearing both. I just didn't wanna do it for the exact same reason. Maybe I could find something like the F91W (in fact I know there is) so I don't feel as crappy about buying the same model twice

This all comes down to personal choice, and building up, maintaining, and most notably, pairing down a collection, is going to be a deeply personal choice: Particularly how many watches you want, where to keep them, and what the wear rotation would be...

...That said, I see zero issues with buying a the same watch in a different color. As KristianGmentioned, watches serve more as a piece of jewelry than they do as a useful tool. We all have cell phones now that will tell the time more accurately than any watch, and have more function than even the most well equipped digital watch ever could.

This is particularly true for men, as a watch really is one of the very few pieces of jewelry most of us will ever where. As such, it should be no be a surprise if you want various colors/styles to match various occasions or even outfits/color schemes. This is why you can get an Aqua Terra in blue, black, silver, or white. It's not to give options to people who hate certain colors... it's so you can have options for blue, black, and grey suits.

Hello there.

I have Casio W217 in black, gold and silver (negative display). I also have the B650 which is basically the same. So I really have to say yes! Of course I rarely wear any of them but to me they always look good in my display box. Let's face it the watches are cheap so why not?

Good luck with your decision making.

·

yes, in this case buy both

·

There are no problems at all with buying two watches in this way. I have a Casio 'square' in two colours: bright red and nearly as bright blue. There are no rules.

·

Hell yes get both. Why not?

·

Go for it. You obviously like both designs and you said you'd wear both, and at £15-£20 a pop you really can't go wrong

·

Let not your heart be troubled!  Casios in particular are great for this: I must have a dozen G-Shock squares in different colorways.  Enjoy!

·

It is perfectly ok.😃

That would be an awesome collection!

Totally. I have three different Seiko SRPDs of distinct colors and it's totally worth it. I sometimes think 'Meh it's too many', but then if I didn't have all these, I probably would be seeking to buy these anyway.

No shame, I've got a section of a watchbox dedicated to the same watches but in different colorways...
