(SO29N707) How Does The Swatch fair now?

Hey there thanks for checking out this post I highly appreciate it and I hope you a decent enough time reading my post have a coffee, tea or whatever it may be.

About a month or so I bought the SO29N707 or Fade To Pink, a swatch I loved, it had everything I kind of looked for, fun pop of colour while being easy to read time, it had indexes which I prefer over numbers and most of all, it had a really cool spectrum effect where it changed colour! Everything was going smoothly!

After about one or two days, I noticed something odd...the strap didn't have this white spec before? Surely it can't be peeling after only one or two days. Gradually as days went by the strap got worse and worse, to put it lightly, the watch strap was a shell of its formal self. Below is the strap progress.

Fortunately I was able to get a new strap, still the same one so I liked the colour and everything and everything was lovely once again...for 2 days. If you're like me it would hard pressed to not be a little suspicious that it wouldn't happen again and that suspiciousness proved accurate as you most likely guessed that the strap started to peel yet again. This time I didn't even bother trying to ignore it I took it straight to my local swatch.

Welp where am I now? Somewhat fortunately I'm in the process of doing an exchange for a new model entirely, I'm thinking of the SUOK705 "All That Blues", it has indicators which I like along with a really quite calming colour of blue it has my personal favourite feature of swatches (often times) seeing the inner gears of working of the Swatch, something about it just makes me at ease seeing it. I'd like to hear your honest feedback on it as there isn't any in my local store but sounds like it is able to be ordered in.

The best recommendation I have if you were interested in buying a swatch is to honestly look at the watches in person and be careful, have a very watchful eye, some of the swatches like the fade to pink model seems to have a screen printed strap or something rather than a full coloured silicone. Choose a piece that you'd enjoy as theyre meant to be fun, but that's just my opinion.

Thank you for taking the time to read this ramble post but Good Morning, Good Evening or Good Night, and Don't Loose Track of Time!

I'd love to hear a time you've had bought any watch and after a short while you started noticed a defect to the point where you had to take action about it :)

Swatch is not themselves any favours not improving on their quality control. What a shame!

·

The GF has an automatic Swatch that is quite decent, but every time I handled one of their plastic models it felt as if it just dropped out from a Kinder Surprise Egg. I'm able to sympathize with you, but I can't say that I'm surprised that it happened.

That's just too bad, but I can't really say that I'm surprised

·

So you're not a patina fan, I take it?

That's fair enough I can see where you're coming from, I honestly sometimes like the plastic because I could accidentally hit it in the counter and it's gonna be fine, if the mark is visible than using a little polywatch always helps. If I want a serious watch than Swatch isn't really my go to except for the skin ironies, those aren't bad

I agree, it's kind of ridiculous the quality control as of right now, I'm assuming they're probably overwhelmed by the MoonSwatch and starting to loose grip on their main product lines

I understand that graphics can't be solid molded, but why is the base color not? Were this navy and the pink flaked off, leaving plain navy blue underneath, it would be more tolerable. And you'd think a layer or two of clear coating would be possible too.

I would've thought that but apparently not.

Something has been very fishy about these models and I don't know if I like it hahah
