My first watch build

After countless hours of watching YouTube modding videos and acquiring the necessary tools along the way, I finally completed my first build. Built entirely from parts sourced on Ali Express, it features a Seiko NH35 movement housed inside a SKX style case.

A Sapphire domed crystal sits nestled inside the 120-click spring bezel.

The dial was a secondary choice for me because along the way I bought a dial that was too big for the case. While this may not be the “classiest” of the classy watches, it was intended as a fun proof of concept mod for me. Proof that I can indeed set the hands and cut the crown stem.

The full lume dial is quite pretty in the dark.

As someone who enjoys modding everything he owns, to make it his own, this process of building a watch from the ground up was a quite special process and while it may not be expensive, I look at it with pride and accomplishment. I’m ready for many more.

The only thing I’m not dead set on is the hands. I think they need to be a bit bolder so I ordered these.

Nope. I’m thinking about a Black Bay 58 homage next.
