What is the worst thing about being a watch enthusiast?

I can hardly agree more with this.

Not enough money to buy them all

Being a watch enthusiast.

·

Always craving for new watches while you don’t have enough money to pay bills 🤣🤣🌚

·

Judgment, gatekeeping, watch know it alls and shady content creators.

This hobby, can definitely become rather expensive. The way I see it though, is you only have one life. If you have the means and buying watches isn’t causing financial hardship, then by all means go and buy what you love. I’m very aware of the fact that I live a fortunate life, and I don’t want to minimize the expense of watch collecting - especially haute horlogerie. But if you treat the hobby as a reward for life achievements, and are responsible with your money, I don’t see anything wrong with it. Celebrate your accomplishments with a wrist trinket that reminds you of all the hard work and dedication that you put into your career. For newcomers, please, please, please avoid debt when buying a watch. Only buy a luxury watch if you can afford the potential loss of the amount spent on it. Otherwise, go have fun!

I, somehow, do not own all the great watches.

·

Its......just......too......expensive.

·

Having family ask you about what watch to get someone else as a gift.

You take into consideration their budget and who the gift is for, then you provide them a well thought out list only for them to turn around and buy a fashion watch from a store like Kate Spade.

The uncontrollable urge to try and come up with things to "fix" on a watch or state what watch they think is better.

·

The feeling at times that they’re like Pokémon…gotta catch’em all!

My big problem is not being able to take a loss and accept that some watches cannot be saved without deep, deep, deep pockets and aeons of free time. It's like I'm walking through a pet shelter when browsing online or rummaging through pawn shops. I want to save them all and give them a better life, but that's just not possible. Trust me, I've tried.

·

The shame, I’d say

·

The flipping, and the watches that I want but can’t have. Because of 💵💵
