ETA 251 264 AA super-quartz

I have recently learned about this super quartz ETA movement and it blew my mind: 27 jewels (more than many mechanical movements), extreme accuracy, 2 full size chronograph hands (the green one does a full rotation in 1 second, just as the El Primero, the white one underneath ticks every second), battery life up to 5 years, Precidrive + Powerdrive, self calibration every hour. The watches have been discontinued but I can still find many available to purchase in my country.

Anyone owns a Certina (DS 2 or DS Podium) with this exact movement and can share some of his experience about the movement reliability?

Cheers!

It’s got that WC Green in it!

It's an amazing movement but the watch is sadly way too big for me. The Tissot's with Precidrive, like the 36mm Seastar, are also underappreciated.

I very much like HPQ movements like this and the Grand Seiko quartz etc, It had me looking online for some time, I found this one and tempted, for me has a Rolex vibe. Very tempted !

I have one. Very well made solid feeling watch. Lovely mechanical click when operating chronograph. I really like although doesn't get wrist time nowadays

Very nice, looks a lot like a Speedy.

I shall pull the tigger on the one with green accents as soon as the price drops to 400$.

How accurate is "extreme accuracy?"

How accurate is "extreme accuracy?"

A bit late i know but i found this.

From ETA: "The PreciDrive technology integrated into a calibre will allow the watch to achieve exceptional precision of +/- 10 seconds a year, a score equivalent to a precision of 0.027 seconds a day.”

Got the quote from calibercorner.
