Dive watch hunting

I am looking for one under 100$, I have ended up with these two as finals. Ratio is a good microband from Singapore, this model is a perfect diver for around 91$, on discount tho, 120$ or so MSRP. It has a Seiko quartz movement, a SAPPHIRE cristal, which is amazing at this prize and it comes with a rubber band that I won't need to change like the Invicta. They both have 200m of water resistant. The Invicta, I chose only because it has a Seiko NH35A automatic movement, which is amazing for 82$, which will end up at 93$ when I buy a Rubber band, because I prefer those for divers. There is more chance that I am going to get the Ratio watch, because I prefer the design, Its from a better brand overall and I don't mind the quartz movement, because it is a Seiko one and it has a Shappire cristal. What ya"ll think?

Since you are open to Chinese microbrands and homages, I would recommend looking into brands such as Steeldive or Addiesdive to broaden your options in the <$100 diver category.

I know, I already have an Addiesdive watch. Ratio is not the same thing as those brands, it's from Singapore but it is like other brands and not homage brands like Addiesdive and San Martin for example. Thanks for the suggestion tho

Sounds like you already made the decision.

Casio Duro?

Mineral is harder to scratch than ppl think. Unless you treat your watch like a hammer?

Thought about that, but I want a more expensive diver with a Seiko movement

Casio and Citizen also have some nice ones to consider. Depends if you're looking to actually dive or just the style.

·

The ones I posted above are from around 80 to 150 bucks. So a bit over 100 but not too bad.

·

So what about having a look at Casio and Timex then? $100 is right in their alley and they’ve got a solid reputation and heritage!

I have looked at the Casio Duro and decided it's not something I want, because I am looking for a more high-end diver. I have a Timex, but there is no true divers under 120$.

If I were you I’d keep saving to get in the $300-400 price range where you can get some real value for the money!

I fear I’m a snob, I voted against the Invicta. But I do love the orange of the Ratio. Fun, but also a true diver color.

·

I'd go for the Ratio. 😁

I'd go for the Ratio. 😁

this one was a long time ago and I went with the pro diver in the end, because it was honestly a better watch overall.

·

I just am not a fan of orange watches, but I have some Invicta's that I really like. If you're interested I posted about my collection of them .

·

Go for the Ratio while it's on sale. You can always grab the Invicta later on. Also, check Amazon prices on Ratio. They sometimes have better prices there.

Yes - I would be in the Invicta camp, a great range of choice and enduring classics in there. A “sale” is usually just products finding their level rather than a once in a lifetime opportunity.
