I told myself THIS TIME I will sell my watches that I like but don't love and not put any new money in to get my next watch. Well, so far I have sold 7 watches, 2 lenses, 1 camera, and some tools and other random stuff I had laying around that I didn't use... like a sawhorse lol
I am almost there...
To keep me focused I go in once a month to try on my goal watch. I'm sure the salesman (and security guard) are tired of seeing me but at least they're friendly lol
Now that im only a few weeks away I am getting nervous. Wondering if I should get two really nice watches instead of just this one... but my mind always comes back to knowing i will regret it if i do.
So, at least when I finally get this bad boy... the wife won't mind... as much haha

That watch is a stunner! Hold fast, and stick to the plan.

I concur.
Keep your eye on the price 👏
Stick to your main choice as you will always keep going back to it
Your wife doesn't know how much your wrist will be worth...
My greatest fear is that I'll drop dead tomorrow, and my wife will sell all of my watches for what I told her I paid for them. 😱
Stick to the one. I've not tried the chrono, but the regular blue Polaris is great. You can do it!
Stay strong 💪🏻
Remember how they said in school when you're not sure go with your first choice. Get the one watch that has kept you in thrall this entire time.
TL;DR Don't switch horses midstream.
stick to it!!!! it is a lovely watch
My god your in my head 😂 I did it arse up , I’ve got to go home after the Thai holiday back to Australia and start selling stuff 🙂 I got one of my two grails on holiday my Ranger . Got a a Smiths Everest and an Alpinist to offload and possibly two guitars to help finance the next one 👆 good luck with your acquisition!

I am hoping my two daughters keep some and the wife gets first pick so she knows what she should get for them but I feel you lol 😂 “ no darling I didn’t pay too much for the Lange .. honest “
I'm curious about the watches you've sold. Care to share?
No way you would have any regrets after picking this piece up!! I am also curious how you sold your watches (online, to friends, etc.). I have been thinking about selling one of mine.
Beautiful piece.

I sold my Mühle-Glashütte AOPA Aerosport, Hamilton Jazzmaster Open Heart (x2... i had blue and green), Meistersinger Urban, Squale 1521 50 atmos opaco, Seiko SARY181 and Baltic MR01 (x2...both silver and salmon dial)....
So 8 actually...
Still have a few more to go... things like Eminem edition g-shock, a bronze metal g shock and some small others.
I also will probably sell my Longines green zulu time... just seeing how close i can get to my goal without selling it.

I sold mine equally easily on Reddit and facebook marketplace... FB had more scammers contact but i got to meet real watch people in person for those deals.
Salesman? Security guard? You can get this watch like new on secondary market, lots of opportunities.
but you dont get to try it on... kind of a big deal to me on a $10k+ buy.... Ive bought many watches unseen, but thats also why i ended up selling a few of them.... this time I want to make sure it is a long term keeper.

I usually DO do it that way, i has to switch it up this time... Usually I never end up selling the things i said i would to pay for the watches i already bought.
I bought my seamaster thinking I could sell my bb58 and get most of it back... problem was i bought the seamaster and then like 4 more before i got around to selling the bb58 lol

Awesome! First of all, getting rid of a few of those takes a measure of discipline that I would surely lack (😜), but the whole thing puts in perspective how often we're sitting fairly close to our grail-achieving goals and simply won't make the hard choices to get there. Thanks for the valuable lesson, looking forward to you getting that sweet-ass JLC!
Stick for it! It’s a no brainer! 😉
