It’s difficult to be objective while reviewing a watch I earned through hours and hours of sweat, tears, fortitude and clever strategizing while employed in a career that demanded unceasing drive and consistency in excellence.
Through most of the 90’s and into the 2000’s, I toiled at just such a place — Shane Co. It was there during fiscal year 1997, my allowance into The President’s Club, earned me my Classic day/date design watch!
Made in the USA of Swiss parts, my dear watch houses a 7 jewel ETA Caliber 955.132 movement that only gains about +5 seconds/month.
The watch is all stainless steel and is gold-tone plated with perfection on its shimmering fluted bezel, crown, and along its bracelet’s middle links.
My ‘achievement watch’ is 100m water resistant with a scratch-resistant finish that has stood the test of time.
The clasp is a classic fold over and snap design with the Time Service International logo proudly stamped on the clasp lock to ensure the wearer knows it was made in the USA of Swiss parts.
The cons:
I really can’t think of any — I’m that entrenched in this hard-earned watch. I love the obsidian black dial and how it warmly contrasts with the gold hands and markers. I relish the classic day/date configuration…and I enjoy the precision of its quality 7 jewel beating heart. What’s not to love?
Every time I wear this 90 gram 36mm reminder of the drive, wit and salesmanship I mustered to sell almost a million bucks of diamonds and jewelry during 1997, I am humbled, but yet over-joyed, to know I was part of something that helped this company thrive which still operates today.

Time dictates my linear path to its bitter end. My watches keep me one step ahead of time…and one foot out of the grave.
Love Shane Co. Bought the wife's engagement and wedding rings there. Classy place, love it even more that no commission so no pressure and the sales staff are always super friendly.
Have to keep an eye out if one of these ever pops up in eBay, since I don't have anything from Shane Co.

Very nice! I have been wanting to source a Shane watch. It would be cool to have a nice watch with my name on it. LOL Isn't that movement the same one that they use in some Gucci and Movado watches? It looks like it. It's a pretty decent movement.

I know Hamilton uses it in their Khaki Kings.
