Show and tell us about your 'theme watch' you acquired to compliment a hobby.

Years ago, a TV ad popped up on my Zenith 27" selling the 'Lionel Collectible Train Watch'. Though my spirit resisted, my fleshy fingers were weak, and I was soon punching up the toll free number on my touch tone phone. Four-to-six weeks later, my new fancy watch arrived in its own tin! Made of brass and base metal, sporting a genuine 'leather-lined' band, and featuring a locomotive with cars that travel around a track, and button-activated sounds of a train whistle, clacking wheels and crossing gate dings, it's a wonder indeed! I admit I've worn it while running my H.O. Scale trains, though not in full coverall and Casey Jones cap regalia (I'm already weird enough). Show and tell us about your theme watch that compliments a hobby of yours.

20+ years ago, I started a website for my other collection: root beer.  I picked up some root beer themed watches (shown here with a few random pieces from that collection), but couldn't find the best one (a Dad's root beer watch).  The website now features pictures and information on over 3000 brands of root beer. In anticipation of possible questions:
1. No, my root beer collection isn't that large.
2. No, I don't (yet) have a root beer colored watch, but eyeing the Tudor version.
3. My favorite brand was Henry Weinhard - until the new owners changed the formula.
4. For those in the mid-Atlantic US, no, birch beer isn't root beer.  It's fine, but it's not root beer. 🍻

So awesome!

Bought this years ago at Hershey Park.  This was way before I was into watches.  In my mind it said limited edition, so I thought in a few years it would be worth a ton of money.  lol

I have 2 hobbies. Yacht racing, and video games. Yacht racing has been done to death on a watch, so I could go with this:

Unitrex Monte Carlo: The World's First Game Watch | WatchUSeek Watch Forums

The Unitrex Monte Carlo. The first mobile electronic gaming device, from 1977 :)

I don't have one however, and I have no clue what they cost.

I grew up in the 90’s so I have a lot of nostalgia for Pokémon, and still play Pokémon go pretty frequently. So when I saw this Casio+Pokémon collaboration for only about $100 I had to get it

Waiting for someone to mention the Brew Metric. It’s got a chronograph for timing the perfect espresso shot pull. I’m hugely into coffee and roast my own beans but can’t pull off this type of watch. Respect though

Watches and model railroading, sounds like a good time to me

I haven’t acquired it (and honestly have no plans to do so) but if I were going to, it’d definitely be:

I suppose my other hobby is fairly easy to guess.

I had a digital watch as a kid (I can't remember the brand) that had a type of Galaxian game. So fun! That watch is fantastic! Metal, adult and gold tone but has games. Can't get any cooler!

Wow, when did that come out?? My kid was born in '99 and still likes Pokémon. Did you have a hard time finding those? I'd like to get one for him.

I saw the review on that. I love the hand set. The mechaquartz looks like a good quality Seiko.

You are so right. My parents started buying me Tyco trains as a little kid in the early '70's. I pretty much have most of my original sets, though some engines have gone kaput.

I want to say it came out in late 2019 or early 2020. It was a limited edition. You can still find them, but it looks like they are going for closer to $180-250 depending on condition now. Search “Pokémon Baby-G watch”
