I’ve just copied below the text from my profile page. I’ve just started getting into watches and looks like this is a great place to get around other enthusiasts.
I’m 36, an engineer with a wife and 3 kids. I live in Australia. I got a Tag Carrera for my 10 year work anniversary in 2019. I really enjoyed picking it out and discovering watches. But didn’t have the spare cash to fuel collecting. I recently had a thought of getting on a Rolex waiting list and using my 40th as a milestone to get something nice. Anyway that was about 2 months ago and I’ve since bought a Rolex Explorer II 16570 and just now a Seiko Speedtimer SSC813. It begins……

I'm new myself I bought my first watch for Father's day 2022 to break up the monotony of my other hobby/obsession and for something else to pass down to my children as well, I'm a father of 3 to so I know the feeling lol, good times and it's addicting

Nice one. “Passing down to children in future” is also another good justification for another purchase. Hahaha. But it’s legitimate as well, they will really treasure what gets handed down.
