Watch Business

Good Day WC community I'm excited to share that I'm currently embarking on a journey to launch my very own watch brand Fraser Timespieces. This venture is driven by my passion for both artistry and the meticulous craft of timekeeping. Saying this I would love to get everyones critique on some mock ups I made on the wathes I want to launch with. Firstly is this a business that you think the watch community would like. Also what advice do you have that you think would help my dream to work.

Hi Daniel. Welcome to the club.

These watches look very interesting. But, one of the problems I can see, or actually have a hard time seeing, it the time. The hand legibility is not good, especially on the blue face. May you can make the hands a little thicker, or standout more. The other thing I would add are the hour, and possibly minute markers. Remember, it is a watch, so I would not want to look at it and guess what time it is. And forget the date. I do not think it is needed.

Of the two, I think the red gold one is my favorite. I think it will make an excellent dress watch. I think it is more refine and more elegant than the blue one.

What are some of the technical specs of your new watches do you envision?

Hope this helps. Please, do not be offended at my comments. I'm just trying to help.

Yes all the watches will have art works I myself have personally done and made from scratch. I have studied art to the highest level in highschool for 3 years so I do have a passion for it. Could u tell me what u think and things ect?

·

Like the other post sir, they just need indices! Is the art made by you? AI? hired artist? If it's a person who does it, perhaps their signature somewhere on dial as well

·

Its made by me from scratch. Will def put the indices.

I like the art you’re using for these.

On the blue dial I don’t think the date window needs to be so prominent- maybe a simple bevel at 6 o’clock and colour matched date wheel. The white base of the wheel glares a bit: you can maintain legibility using a light/white type colour on the darker coōrdinated background.

The hour hands seem to be short. I think you’re very much on the right track with thin hands- though these suffer in the renders. I’d consider using syringe hands, batons with needle tips or dauphine handsets, and lume if appropriate with the first two.

You’re doing a great job of presenting some nice alternatives to the standard fare, Mr Fraser.
