Selling watches online

I am looking to move some watches out of my collection and do not want to go the pawn shop route or eBay. How have you guys successfully sold watches online? Any suggestions are welcome. Chrono24 looks promising but I have no experience with them. Thanks!

I’ve had a lot of luck with Chrono24, I’m only in the affordable watch market and have heard that it can be hard to sell luxury pieces on it.

·

Can I add to this question. Any advice for people selling on their affordable watches e.g under £100, in the UK?

·

Yeah, I’m not selling luxury watches. Everything is $1000usd and under

I guess it depends on the value of the watch.

I'm not experienced in selling but you can try:

  • Watchfinder
  • Chronex

Both are buying pre owned watches.

Also try asking local jeweleries.

If you are expecting to buy a watch you can ask them as well if they would accept your watc  as a partial payment.

But for low value watches these points wouldn't made sense. In this case:

  • Ebay
  • Chrono24

I would highly recommend reconsidering ebay. On top of the protection you get going through them, you get the biggest reach in terms of potential buyers. And shipping labels can be purchased through them at a discounted rate.

I have sold one on eBay and had a great experience with it. I've also bought several off of eBay with the same great experience. I will put four more up for sale on eBay after Christmas, and that's really the only place to do it here in the states. I did sell one on Facebook Marketplace, but that was a pain in the ass, and a second one on there is going to be pulled off and put on eBay instead.

Like a few other replies on here I’ve also sold a number of watches on eBay with no issues.

I sell on eBay

Ebay is the safest bet, but their commission is kinda high. I always try to sell locally first, on Craigslist / FB / your local equivalent. It's a nice experience too, to meet a prospective buyer or seller in a cafe and nerd out a bit :) Dude can look at it IRL, try it on, no nasty sending (back) worries too.
