This is build one of two in the series. Next will be the DIY kit.
DIY and Namoki are the leaders in their respective fields, and they have been gracious enough to play along with my little challenge. The purpose of this video is to compare what the two top companies offer in comparison on a simple pilot-style watch kit. While the tools provided are amazing, they are not the only components I will be comparing.
P.S. I'm going to give the watches away, after building them on the channel, to a couple of you lucky sods! Details about all of that will come in a later video. Links below to the kits. Cheers!

My problem with DIY is the ugly reference number on most of their dials. On the other hand their vintage dress watch dials with the date at 6 are gorgeous. I haven’t used namoki for anything other than a crystal for my turtle. Mostly just get my stuff from Ali Express.
Absolutely love the Sinn homage pilot watch build though. Looks like prime GADA material. However when I try to watch the video it says “this content isn’t available.”

I completely agree! The DIY logo/reference number is ugly! But you can also pay a little extra and they will put your own on some of their dials. They also make a sapphire dial, the only one I know of.
Namoki is great! Everything I bought from them is 100% and the best selection around, short of Ali. Their prices do reflect quality and customer service though.

I noticed you did not show their paper instructions while building it as I assume you knew the steps already. How good would you say their instructions are given someone's first build and never having done that before?

You are right! I should not have neglected to show those for people who don't know. The instructions are very IKEA-like, simple instructions with good pictures. A grand total of 5 steps

Thanks. Seems light for putting together a watch, but then I do struggle with IKEA instructions too! 😅
