Ginault Silent Service

Say what you want about Ginault.. I didn’t know too much about them but stumbled upon the Silent Service and it caught my attention. I’m not a big homage watch kind of guy so I gravitated towards the more original design in the SS instead of the straight up Sub homage Ocean Rover. I started watching a ton of videos about this watch and I was hooked.. I ended up getting a great deal on this one and man let me tell you this watch is QUALITY. Everything about this watch is top notch and I’ve had Omegas, Tudors, and most recently got a Monta Skyquest and it beats all of them. The bezel action is hands down the best bezel I’ve ever had.

This thing has become my number 1 watch and I honestly would be okay with selling everything and keeping this alone. Shit I might even get an Ocean Rover I’m starting to love Ginault so much 😂

I Love my Silent Service. Great watch.

Oh I've not heard much of them - will look into it!

Looks like a no-date Planet Ocean, from the bezel to the hour markers. Crossed with non-hollow SMP300 hands. Case and bracelet remind me of a DJ41. Very clean and nice symmetry. Really like!

Nice

Makes two of us... the bezel action and everything else is superb

Did you mention that they are hand assembled and regulated? Some really cool aspects that caught my interest.

That's a beautiful watch! I saw the pic, didn't even know what it was and my mind just went "yeah I'd wear that!"

·

Just like a certain brand who will not be named, just a wee too much text on the dial. Otherwise, absolute gorgeous piece.

Discovered this one a few weeks ago. I agree. Great watch and design.

·

Precisely the reason I love this site. Never heard of this watch maker. Thanks for enlightening me. 👍👍

I'm loving that no date dial format.

Clean🍻

I’m not a fan of matte dials personally so I passed on the silent service, but my Ocean Rover is my most worn watch in my collection and after 3 years of ownership it still gets more wrist time than many much more expensive pieces. I highly recommend picking up an Everest band for it. I have been running an Everest rubber strap on mine for the last 3 months or so and have had no desire to take it off

Looks great 👍, I will be keeping an eye on this brand I never heard of it before . I love the hands and no date

Going to look in to this brand myself one of your wrist shots of these beauty's caught my eye yesterday and a keen one it is I can see build quality from a 100 yards away, really nice boys and nice to find a brand I've not already checked out 🍻

Because Ginault copied the best elements of Rolex proportions/design throughout the many iterations of submariner, it does so much right. Thin, great bezel, great bracelet, microadjust, etc. If the founder used to make fake Rollies (as rumors suggest), it definitely shows. I have one, too. I like it because it wouldn't ever be mistaken for a modern Rolex, but you get the same feel without the unwanted attention. The bezel action isn't as good as a real modern Rolex, but it's VERY close, which makes it better than most brands multiple times the price. Assembled in the US is also very cool. The case is from Asia, obviously, and the finishing is a little rough around the bezel if you look very close, but it's a great watch. And they lume the Bezel which Rolex cannot manage to do, LOL.
