Was at the pawn shop, where I usually buy the legally dubious Timex expeditions I give away, and saw this for a big $20. Sitting there with the Daniel Wellingtons, overpriced Casios and the odd Movado was this wonder of nature with I'm guessing a Chinese Pocket watch movement. It was actually steel, and ran strong so I figured what the hell? Anybody out there know the movement? I'm curious, but I've spent more than that on a mediocre pizza.

Looks like a pretty solid pick up for $20. Keeping decent time?
Looks similar?

Different crown, but looks like the same movement!
Good looking I would have bought it for $20 too and not hesitate one bit.
So its a Seagull movement then. Fair enough.
Good old Parnis. Chinese budget brand. They've been around for a while. Decent inexpensive homages.
Any shots of the dial?

Click the button to the right, its the second photo. So for $20 it was ok just for fun. Good to know.

Seagull ST3621, I found it and I'm reading about it now! :)
Here it is on calibercorner.com.
Looks pretty damm cool!!
I know this conversation is done and dusted, but I saw this on AliX and had to scroll through many pages to see if it was the same movement as I remembered mentioned yesterday. I quite like this watch, but I'm going cold turkey for a few months.

No, I'm all about necrothreads. Its the same movement, the Seagull ST3621. So far its keeping excellent time. I'm trying to stay away from anything but vintage Soviet, but for $20 what the hell? :)
