Need your thoughts - Christopher Ward Sealander GMT

Hey Watch Crunch, I’ve been eyeing the CW Sealander GMT. In a position to buy it now, but I’m waiting until later this year to pull the trigger. Was going to buy new, but I don’t think I like the new brushed logo and would rather have the black printed (?) logo.

I’d love to know if any of you have this watch and what your thoughts are. What has your wearing experience been like? Is it versatile, does it wear well? What do you love or hate about it?

I have owned both the three hander and the GMT. In my opinion the GMT is the lesser of the two options.

I found the GMT too "busy" for my tastes, so sold it and kept the three hander.

As far as the 39mm C63 goes in general, it's about the perfect size for my 7" wrist. It's large enough to not feel small, while not feeling so large that it's bulky.

I have a C65 Dune with the applied logo, and I think the applied logo really elevates the dial compared to the printed logo.

I think the renders on the CW website don't do the applied logo justice.

Did it come with the maple leaf?

Thanks for your input! I like the regular Sealander in black as well, but I just have too many black steel sports watches

Did it come with the maple leaf?

Yes, it was a bespoke LE for a Canadian watch forum.

Fair enough, but my point about the applied logo stands. It looks much better in person than in their renders.

·

I second that opinion. Having an applied logo is a **chefs kiss**

Having the trident pro with a black logo on white dial isn't bad but I think having an applied logos just adds a little more premium to the look n feel of a watch dial.

I own a CW and the open box experience was super weird. I didn't get the WOW factor immediately. I was quite disappointed initially and had a serious thought of returning the watch. The bracelet felt sharp in some areas, and their light catcher case wasn't as glamorous as I anticipated. I got their LE oxygen fume dial and the color was super dull. Everything changed when I took the watch outside and it glistened in the natural sunlight. Immediately, the blue dial seems to have changed its color, and the polished edges are shiny. Heck, the bracelet still feels sharp but I don't mind it.

They have a good return policy so you can return it if you don't like it. There are things I like to see changed but those are just personal preferences. I've been a fan of CW watches ever since. Good luck picking your new watches.

It was a special edition limited run version. They pop up on the market occasionally but there where not many made.

Outside is definitely where their watches shine. Especially the C60's in the water on a sunny day!

In my experience the applied logo looks much better in person then the photos.

highly recommend. They are beautiful watches.

Spoiler alert! They have a nearly new gmt on bader bracelet in their clearance section for $980

I have a CW DUNE. I don't think pictures do it justice. I really like the applied logo. I didn't think it would be as elegant as it is. It's just very well finished. It glistens in the sunlight. I like the bracelet, it's comfortable and looks great, I love that it's quick release. The only complaint I have is that the clasp is a little long. Oh and I wish it had drilled lugs. CW has a really good return policy and a 5 year warranty. It's a great watch.

Have both the GMT and non-GMT, I wear both of them often and they go with any outfit or occasion and I mix up the straps often as well. Can’t go wrong with the Sealander.

Amazing watch, was a grail for me when I was first starting out and hasn't dissapointed since😅 only complaint is that it's a collection killer

I haven't got the gmt, although I would like to get one along with many other watches that they sell, but I have got the Dartmouth vintage style military dive watch which wears fantastically.
