Boring means practical, which is good. Expansion bands are great and I have a slight preference for them over fabric and definitely over rubber, but it must be taken on a case by case basis.

Yeah my one was $5 so it's really not the best. And it's too small/tight. I guess I need to try a slightly nicer one.
Factory bracelets are not necessarily boring but low quality. It really seems like you can't get a decent quality factory watch bracelet unless the watch is $1,000+ range. And even then it's still a crapshoot. Bracelets seem to where companies cut costs the most, which is unfortunate as I feel like I shouldn't have to immediately replace a bracelet/strap the second after I buy a watch.

Iโve never had a โproblemโ with manufacturer braceletsโฆat any price point.
For the most part yes (in my experience) especially on the more value range. I think it's one area that companies could really up their game a LOT. Not always but as the price goes up generally it's a nicer strap. There are exceptions both ways and I don't own every watch in the world but thats my experience.
In a sense, yes they are boring but extremely practical and flexible.
Ive gone through the whole phase of straps and leather with my watches now and maybe I have strap fatigue as I ended up taking time choosing what strap to wear. I placed each watch on a steel bracelet after that, stock or aftermarket.

I think it depends. I really like the one on my Zelos Hammerhead.
And yes, I think the expansion bracelet looks better. ๐ค๐ฝ

Yeah that's very special and styled well.

Matters on the brand. The Rolex oyster bracelet is the best in the business but on some of my other watches I definitely prefer after market
What model is the watch?

Casio lineage titanium. Great watch. Comes in many versions.
The stock bracelets of my Seiko 5s, and my Timex Waterbury are not boring, but actually quite fitting to the overall design of each watch.
I also enjoy wearing retro style expansion/ elastic bracelets. Their comfortable, light, cool on wrist, and fuss-free.
