I’ll consider any watch that I do not have to spend a significant amount of time ‘charging’ either every night or few days. I already have too many devices that do that already. When it’s charging, I don’t get to interact with it, unlike winding.
My G-Shock Tough Solar is great - accurate and tough and can maintain its charge for 9 months without any sunlight.
It's gonna happen soon, there's gonna be a bunch of cool digital microbrands and all of us who enjoy beeps will rejoice, but still keep wearing casios.

Of course I aspire to a high end digital watch. Currently, my Hamilton Khaki Pilot Flight Timer is my nicest digital watch.
I don't think I'd go too high end with digital, but it is a dang shame that the world generally hasn't figured out how to dress them up convincingly.
