Thanks! It’s actually a Minerva movement. I don’t have the specifics with me right now, but can supply when I’m back in the states. All Montblanc Minerva watches are 100% in-house movements and build and 100% Swiss Made including the straps.

Patek and some other big hitters in the watch industry use Lamania based architecture. For certain the movement is 100% inhouse ! Was just curious if the Lamania architecture was the basic design language of the Minerva movements:)

Actually no - the movements are vintage Minerva developed movements before Lemania developed its movements.

Here is a really good brief history of Minerva which explains it better…

The movements are still made in the same atelier where they started making them in 1902 using much of the same equipment that existed at the turn of the century.

If you ever find yourself in Villeret, Switzerland, a visit to the Atelier is a must. I am headed there again tomorrow for another tour and day with the watchmakers and specialists. It is a truly fascinating opportunity to see how much of this work is done by hand including the making of the Spiral which are all made and fitted in-house.

Thanks David - if you are a hardcore chronograph fan, I truly wish you get the chance for a visit. I did the tour last year and I chose to go again this year because I loved it so much.

It’s like being transported back into another age. They’ll let us in again to view the archives and the cool amazing things in there just give you a sense of wonder (and let’s face it - a desire to be able to take something with you - but that’s not gonna happen sadly).

All the best!
