The awkward honor of meeting the Father of G-Shock 😅
Throwback to 2017 and the father & Mr G-shock himself Mr Kikuo Ibe was visiting the Hong Kong flagship store from Japan.
Information was late and the arrangement of the time was bad as it was a weekday around 2pm were most people had to be at work.
Good for me there wasn’t a large queue, as I got to the front I noticed all the people in front of me had there G-shock watches & boxes and stuff ready for him to sign!
What was awkward was besides only bringing my watch, it was my most special one and call me crazy! Please do but as I do not have any safe queens and wear all my stuff I didn’t want him to sign it~ as if he did I know it would have to become a display piece perhaps?
So I had to think quick and asked if he could sign my arm instead, the press was there at the time with a translator for him, he thought it was strange “only” to sign my arm? So I told him I was going to get a tattoo of it.
Suddenly the press and everyone made me out to be a G-shock “super” fans.
It was a bit embarrassing! No disrespect to any G-shock fanboys out there.
In the end I also got a photo with the great man.
Such a nice guy and truly a Legend. ❤️
