4th time’s a charm, true L💙ve

So back near the end of 2021 I decided on getting my first Mechanical watch.

After doing research all fingers pointed to the BlackBay 58, after doing my research on the BB58 I learned about the snowflake hands & the connection to the Marine Nationale 🇫🇷⚓️

Not too soon later Tudor announced they were going to collaborate with M.N again.

I didn’t wait and pulled the trigger on the BB58.

Going further down the rabbit hole, though I like the Pelagos FXD, my heart wanted a Rolex Submariner, so I sold my BB58 and got the Sub.

After a year it was time for another watch purchase , looking at the collection at the time it didn’t feel right getting another dive watch (FXD) so my heart drifted off for a chronograph , and picked up a Heuer Carrera 60th Ann version.

All should have been happy yet deep down inside I still yearned after the FXD.

and now after the 4th watch in row I’ve gotten it.

Feeling happy and not even had one thought of which watch I want next. 😌

How long will it last for? 😜

Good choice!

I'm at the I-didnt-have-a-NATO-strap-until-I-bought-this-watch-and-I-have-no-idea-what-I'm-doing! phase, and it's been a journey so far... at least they're cheap mistakes!

Now on the lookout for velcro straps that approach the OEM in terms of finish & structure.

Yeah it wouldn’t be a 1 only watch to recommend , but it’s one hell of a special unique type though 🔥

Don’t know about other options for Velcro but I’d say you’ve got the Marine Nationale version so might as well get the Original parachute webbing which the combat swimmers used back in the day. Check out NDC straps they have the authentic New old stock 🇫🇷⚓️ or I’ve seen a lot of people using some beautiful Bark and Jack nato straps 🔥

You need a dress watch

I do , but in my line of work and lifestyle it’s not very necessary , so the last watch I got my Carrera is killing 2 birds with one stone as besides being my only chronograph with the leather strap I think it’s elegant enough to be worn with a suit and tie?

Tool watch at its purest 🔥

You need a dress watch

Why? Not everyone dresses up. I’ve worn a suit once in my life. Not worth investing in a watch for that.

Anyhoo, great choice Chow! The FXD has been an amazing watch for me. I’m sure you’ll love it 👍

IMO you have a perfect collection. Can’t think of a better tool/sports watch than the fxd. Carrera is my favorite chronograph, it has vintage vibes and can be dressed up as well as the sub, which is a really nice everyday watch (but to be perfect for me i would chance the sub for a 36mm explorer).

Really dont think you will ever need another watch! I wouldn’t!

Hey thanks for the nice words man!

Yeah as I’m more of a dive watch guy I figured I needed a chronograph to add some variety plus I don’t have any smart dressy type watches. Original the chronograph could have been the speedmaster

But I’m yet to see a Omega that I’m truely in love with , I was very close to going for the HANHART 417es ! It ticked all the boxes I was looking for but fate would have it there was no more in stock when I tried to get it ~ plus it was another black dialed watch , Daytona is nice but too flashy so like you said the Carrera was the perfect blend with that vintage feel. The FXD although another dive watch give me also something new being my first titanium watch and my only blue colored watch.

So for the first time I feel contempt . Now it’s time to start giving all of them fair wrist time and enjoying them all. 🍺🍺

So I’m guessing that you must be saving up to get a 36 explorer ? From the people I know who have it they say it’s the perfect one watch ~ so once you get it you won’t need another watch again 😅

😂 in my reality in Brazil i would have to save a whole life to afford an explorer, is crazy expensive here. It will be like $50.000,00 dollars. Maybe one day… but i have an San Martin that does the job for now 😂

Good choice! Pleased to see no TAG on the dial! Heuer is all that is needed!

Yeah , I guess it depends which model , I don’t mind as I’m a TAG Heuer fan anyways, but yes there modern stuff should have it & there classic heritage line looks better without.

Thanks , I’m sure it will and when I take it back home and let it meet the rest of the family in the watch box I’m sure there gonna be a lot of jealous faces in there as the FXD is gonna be taking a lot of there wrist time 🤪

Looks nice, I’d never of known for this angle unless you told me! 💪🏻

How’s the chronograph function on it? I’ve not tried it on the pelagos yet, only the blackbay chrono …… wasn’t a fan of it~ 🙁

The chronograph function is good. Plus 200m water resistance plus date. Good watch ⌚️ 👌
