A coper a day will keep the boredom away

I'm quite happy with my Lorier Safari. In my post of yesterday i remarked that I find diver's to be mostly boring, and that's something that I can't say about the Safari.

The copper dial and the blued handset are always the first things that catch my eyes. This is followed with how shinny the watch is overall. The high polish on the case is great at catching reflections and it reminds me of mirrored cylinders used to display anamorphic art.

It's definitively not a boring watch, despite sharing the same 369 dial as one of the most yawn inspiring watch ever designed. TBH it's not really a "classic" 369 dial because I don't think that Rolex ever tried a sector layout.

The MN strap with its orange stripe and bronze hardware is something that I did after being totally disappointed with the terrible original perlon strap. I tried a mesh bracelet but I found this pairing to be too blingy and settled on the more utilitarian looking strap from Erika's Originals.

I think that this is a combination that goes well together and help to balance the high polish finish of the case. I also think that it's a shame that the Safari was only sold as a short run limited edition because I believe that plenty of people here on WC would appreciate a chance to get one.

Very nice! I strongly considered getting one of these during the purchase window, but resisted. Sometimes I wish I would've succumbed to the temptation.

I was undecided myself between this one and the other more classical looking white dial model but the copper won me away in the end.

The watch itself holds no appeal for me, but the Erika's strap is perfection.

I have to keep reminding myself that I don't need an Erika's for every watch I own... yet.

The Safaris are some of my favorites from the brand. TGV and them really hit it out of the park. I like dive watches. They give the added opportunity to use color on a wristwatch. I share a similar appreciation of watches like this. There is an elegance to all-rounders(?). And I love the very 20th-century look to this.

Speaking of the 20th Century, it would be so nice to see some art nouveau watches. Imgaine engravings of flora on a case (maybe on the case too?) and an elegance borderless BOR, and the beautiful options available to be put on a dial

That dial is truly amazing. This color makes me happy but is still somehow a classic one. TGV did great!

Oooh not sure I was aware of this model. That thing is a beauty 😍 Great paring with that strap btw.

What color is the original perlon?

The original strap was so bad that it deserved a post review of its own.

TLDR: It's truly terrible.
