Seiko SNK807

In addition to whatever G Shock I'm wearing I like to switch over to a non G when I come home from work. Sometimes I'l wear my non G to work or whatever. This week I'm going with the Seiko SNK807.

Late last year I decided to try out an automatic watch and after some research I ended up getting this Seiko SNK807. No alarms, no countdown timer, no solar charging, no stop watch, just a straight up self contained time telling machine. A bit of a departure from my usual G Shocks, but the SNK807 makes up for it with pure charm. I was and still continue to be amazed by the fluid motion of the second hand and will still flip the watch over to take a peak at the inner workings. Despite the reputation of the SNK as a tough watch, I'm still kinda wary of wearing it in the same situations I'll wear my other watches. I mean, it's powered by gears and springs! Other than my perceived fragility of the watch, it looks really cool, easy to read, and is possibly the perfect sized watch for me. I've read that people have some issues with the supplied strap, but it's wearing in nicely.

I really like the snk, I put mine on a nato strap immediately tho

I wouldn't surprise me if the Seiko 5 SNK range was a gateway into mechanical watches, for a lot of people on this platform. Certainly was for me.

I'm considering a nice fun nato band or going with a brushed metal bracelet.
