INSTANT Christopher Ward Fan

Over the past couple of years since beginning my watch collecting journey, I'd hear a lot about Christopher Ward and how it's a brand that's going places. A very young watch brand with practically zero heritage, but that didnt bother me. I liked their designs, but the original plainly written "Christopher Ward" logo just did not resonate with me back then (picky I know).

Fast forward to the present day, I found myself enjoying the hunt for my next watch, as all Watch Crunchers do, it's all part of the enjoyment, right? I have a number of things in my checkbox that i look for in (what I deem to be) a perfect watch:

It had to:

✅️ Be swiss made,

✅️ Have a sapphire crystal

✅️ Sapphire Crystal case back (not essential)

✅️ Excellent quality and finishing

✅️ Not too big

✅️ Not too thick

✅️ Ceramic bezel with a satisfying twisting action.

✅️ Stunning dial

✅️ Nice lume

✅️ Doesn't break the bank!

The perfect watch in my personal opinion is my beloved Black Bay 58. It has everything I could ever want in a watch, and it's the pinnacle of my collection. It has a classic look, gorgeous finishing, stunning gilt edging and that bezel action, wow! (I'll let go of the fact it's not ceramic 😉)

So with the Tudor setting the standard, I wanted to add to my collection another swiss made watch, but one that didnt break the bank this time.

I hadn't checked out Christopher Ward for some time, so I thought I'd have a browse on their website, because I'd heard about the "Twelve" and the charming Bel Canto watches really shaking up the watch world recently.

I stumbled across the updated version of the Cristopher Ward C60 Trident Pro 300, and as I was going through the checklist in my mind, I realised "this could really give my Tudor Black Bay 58 a run for its money here!" Plus the logo has now been changed to the English/Swiss logo which I really, REALLY liked.

I took the plunge and bought the white C60 Trident, with the black/orange rubber strap. It's just arrived today and ... WOW! This thing is absolutely stunning!

The whole box opening process was so satisfying, and the payoff when I saw the watch laid there, ready to be worn with the time and date set already out of the box. It's little things like this that really impresses me when it comes to a brand thinking about the customer.

The watch itself is everything I wanted, and more. It's the perfect size for my wrist (40mm) it's wonderfully thin, the strap is so comfortable already, there's no need to break it in, plus you can swap out the straps with the quick release spring bars. The build quality is almost flawless, in fact, I can't find anything I don't like on this watch. It can be sporty, dressy or tooly (I'm not sure if that's the right way to describe the versatility of this watch, but I'm running with it 🤣).

Up against my Tudor BB58, it almost tips the scales, but there's a very fine line, because I really do love my Tudor. The Trident is such a great looking watch, more modern than my BB58, but like I said the versatility of the Trident really makes this watch an everyday classic!

The quality and the relatively low price for this C60 Trident really has blown me away. The case back, the applied markers, the little Trident counterbalance on the seconds hand with that splash of orange on the end, the signature crown with subtle crown guards, the delicate but rugged looking case, it ticks all the boxes and more!

The C60 Trident Pro 300 has instantly made me a huge fan of Christopher Ward. They've listened to what their customers wanted, their likes and dislikes, and have produced a simply breathtaking watch. I'm definitely saving my money for another Christopher Ward as soon as possible.

Beautiful watch. I hope CW is at the wind up Watch fair so I can taste a few models. Idk if brining my wallet is a good idea 😂

They're really making some fantastic watches, they've got it right and will be a brand to look out for in the not too distant future, I'm certain of it.

Just lock away your wallet, they're too tempting at the prices they are right now.

We both know I’m brining my wallet….

Congrats! 🎉CW makes some really good pieces. Their quality is on par with watches that cost almost double! I have the 300 pro in blue and I love it. It is such a nice looking diver. 😍

As a fellow Trident Pro 300 owner, I completely agree.

·

I've got a few of their watches in my eyes at the moment, C65 Dune, C60 Atholl 300 and the C63 Sealander.... with the 60 day return I really don't know why I've not pulled the trigger on one yet. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Everyone that has one raves about them 🤔 maybe tomorrow 😅
